    Bought brand new ice auger for $500.00 online from a Jiffy reseller. Started it. Won’t idle correctly. Called Jiffy and spoke with Kevin. He had me run it up to temp multiple times and let fully cool. Then had me adjusting the carb jet and idle screw. Nothing worked. Jiffy will not replace the brand new auger. They want me to drive an hour each way to drop it off at a service center. Then drive an hour each way again after the repair was made. So never drilled a hole with it but it’s my problem to drive 4 hours and wait weeks for service. I wanted to share my experience as others are shopping for new augers. Beware of the Jiffy customer service and policies. Dead on arrival is your problem, not theirs.

    This gentleman was called several times to remedy this situation and it has been resolved. He used ******** to tell his story and when we reached out to him and gave him many options to correct this problem he refused and took the product back to the store for an exchange.We do not hide from any issue and we answer the phone live so please call so you the angler can be supported to get you out fishing.***** is ranked every year as best in class customer service.Kindest regards

    I was indeed communicating with the service department. These are the options I was given. 1. Bring the auger to the nearest authorized service center which is in ********. Its one hour travel there and one hour travel back. Then when the shop was done fixing it, I would drive there and back again to get the auger. 2. Ship it to Jiffy for service. Wait a week, then they would ship it back. They were willing to pay shipping one way and they estimated their service department was out about one week. So likely 3 weeks turn time to get the auger shipped and returned to me. 3. They would ship me a carb and I would replace it to see if that works. Their manual clearly states that any unauthorized service would void warranty. Additionally, if the carb was not the issue, I would be back left with the other two options. I ended up driving it about 2 hours to ****** and exchanged it. Then drove 2 hours home. That was the best option available to me.This was a brand new in box auger and Jiffy customer service and policies offer no exchange or advance replacement. If a customer receives a unit that is defective on arrival, they are burdened with taking it to a service center or trying to fix it themselves. Customers need to know about this policy before purchasing from this company. They need to have the facts so they can make an informed decision prior to purchase. ***** did nothing to resolve my issue but provide inadequate service options. The reseller chose to go the extra mile and exchange so I would not report to my credit card company.
