I gave *****, from Green Bay Masonry a check on July 2nd, 2024 for a 50% downpayment to have some concrete work done at our house and he said he would be there the following week to do the job, then it was the next week and then the next week, this week he told me he cant get any concrete so it was on hold. I asked for a full refund and he said i would have the check by the end of this week, it is sunday evening and we still have not heard or seen *****. All we want is our money back so we can pay the new contractor whom is going to actually do the job for us.

I was looking to get concrete poured and some brick work completed at ******************************************************. ***** (the owner) seemed pretty responsive and would always answer his phone in the beginning. We met out at the property on September 10th for an estimate of the work and September 17th we signed the contract. At that time he wanted 50% of the payment which came out to $4,750. He cashed the check that day at PCM ************ in Green Bay. He initially said he could do it the following week (another reason I went with him). But then he said he had to order brick. After that, he had surgery in October but should be out there in 2-3 weeks. He said then he should be there in another few weeks. Come December on December 10th, he texts me, "We will pour this week. I'll call tomorrow" and then no work happens again. He keeps coming up with excuses about his health during this time. I'm trying to stick with him because I already gave him money, though. On March 1st, I asked for my deposit back since he isn't able to start the work. He said he can pour concrete when the weather breaks and he needs the work. Well, here we are into April and he's hard to get a hold of and won't respond. I've called him numerous times over the past 5 days, left voicemails, texts, and he's only responded once with a "Yes" respond to ask if he received my texts. I just want my money back or him to do the work. Either way. You can't just take $4,750 and not do anything. Phone number I have for him - ************.
