    Booked a canoe trip for Sat. Sept 2 2023 . The day of, the immediate area weather reported thunderstorms and we were advised by local authorities not to go on the lake during thunderstorms where lightning has struck within 20 miles. ********* can travel 10 to 12 miles from a thunderstorm. This is often farther than the sound of thunder travels. That means that if you can hear thunder you are close enough to a storm to be in danger of being struck by lightning. We called early in the morning to cancel and the merchant denied and quoted their contract that they reserved the right to take people out on the lake in lightning and thunder conditions although I would think this was illegal, unsafe and definitely unscrupulous. We did not receive any service from them and we should not have been charged for a trip we refused to take because of substantiated and well advised safety concerns.

    Hi I am sorry but this is the first message I have received about this complaint. I am the owner and will reach out to the customer and provide a full refund. I will communicate with my operations Mgr to find out what the details to the complaint are how he responded. I hope my actions are acceptable. I have had this business for 29yrs and have never had this happen before. I am surprised and unhappy with this.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

    The owner stated he will reach out to me and provide a full refund. No follow through on that. His company has been fighting my refund through the credit card company for a few dispute cycles. They have been made more than aware of this,the owner apparently is not aware of what is happening within his company as they have been rejecting all of my refund requests. Apparently his "operating manager" operates outside of what he considers good business practice. His action to refund would be acceptable if it actually happens.

    I have contacted our on line registration service an they indicated that there was a dispute filed by the customers bank. On October 18th the customers bank should have received a refunded amount for $126.60. which is the amount the customer had been charged for the tour. Because of this process the customer has been refunded and I apologize for the inconvenience and lengthy process.

    Since the owner disagreed with the way his "managers" handled this, they should be educated on proper procedure. They clearly do not know and fought me every inch of the way.
