I purchased a vehicle less than a year ago. It incurred a $800 repair and I reached out to the dealership. They told me they would cover it but I had to have the work done at their facility. Which is 7 hours of driving round trip. Upon completion they said no, they agreed to only do it for cost and tried to make me pay the entire thing. They wouldnt allow me to obtain my vehicle without payment of half of the repair. I was completely misled in multiple phone conversations and was told it would be covered. I never wouldve taken off work and made the 7 hour drive otherwise. Terrible customer service and the manager is extremely rude.

This vehicle required a particulate filter to be replaced. Customer took vehicle to their local dealership and had diagnosis performed. This vehicle no longer has a factory warranty. The vehicle was purchase at our dealership in June of 2022. The used vehicle dealership warranty has also expired. 10 months and approximately **** miles have passed since purchase. It is my understanding that the customers local dealer quoted ******* dollar range to replace the diesel exhaust particulate filter. The estimate from our dealership was under ******. The customer chose to drive to our dealership to save the roughly ****** on the repair. The final bill was ******. Customer paid the bill. We gave the customer an estimate prior to scheduling the repair and adhered to this estimate. The decision to drive a long distance to have this repair was based on the estimate being much less. If this vehicle had been covered under warranty, the repair would have been certainly performed by the closest dealer. I think the confusion lies in that the customer believes this repair is covered by a warranty. Neither our dealership or the customers local dealership were able to find any record of warranty coverage for this repair.

    Thank You.
