Vince Ingrilli & Sons Plumbing Co., Inc fraudulently charged me for work that they did not do. I contacted them about a plumbing problem in my condo. They sent a worker to evaluate the faucet in question, which I had already taken apart. He couldn't tell what the problem was from a very brief look, and took a photo of it, saying that his boss would look at the photo and get back to me. He also asked where my main water shut-off was and I told him that I didn't know. He told me to find it in case they had to shut off the water when they came back to fix the problem, once they figured out what it was. The worker was at my place for no more than 10 minutes. The boss called me back later that day to tell me he couldn't tell what the problem was from the photo and would have to call the company (Delta). He said he would get back to me in a week. In the meantime, I went on-line and figured out the problem myself, ordered the part and fixed it. When Ingrilli called back, I told him that I had fixed the problem and no longer needed his services. A few weeks later, I got a bill for $180 for "labor to take apart the faucet and to look for the water shut-off." There was no mention on the bill of a minimum charge for simply coming out to my place; the bill specifically stated that the charges were for labor. Furthermore, their ad on the Internet states that they give free estimates. The labor that was claimed on the bill was untrue; the worker did not do those things. I offered to pay Ingrilli a small portion of the fee for the 10 minutes that the worker was there but Ingrilli refused my offer. He claimed that he has a minimum charge for a first visit, although this was not stated anywhere on the bill nor did he convey that on our first phone conversation. He has since sent the bill to a collection agency. I strongly advise against anyone planning to use this company.
