My alternator went out in my car and I needed to have it towed, unfortunately Mills was the only place they could tow it to in Whitewater at the time of the breakdown. I called the following morning to touch base with Mills, telling them what happened and how I need my alternator replaced. They called me back with a quote of $400 something. I then got another call saying they had to replace the starter instead of the alternator, and that it would run in the $500s now. I then received a third call saying it did in fact end up being the alternator and that my car was ready. I was then charged $700, so I asked for an itemized receipt since that was no where near the $400 i was originally quoted for the alternator. The receptionist was really rude, I went to open my car to take it home and they had locked my keys in the car. I called the receptionist and asked if someone could please open my car, in which i was greeted with a very unprofessional mechanic who started off the conversation cussing out my girlfriend because she had her hands on her hips. While trying to open my door, he rambled on with comments on how he cut us a deal with the repairs he did, which while looking over the receipt he did more repairs than i originally asked for and said he did them so i wouldnt come back ******** about something else needing work. I told him he was being unprofessional and I wouldnt be doing business here again and that I was going to report his misconduct, in which he replied he didnt care because its not the first time hes been turned in and the BBB wont bother looking into it. Its winter time and i obviously need my car for transportation, but it is unacceptable to be forcing repairs onto somebody and refusing to let them see the list of what was completed until they pay in full.

    Dear BBB,

The gentlemen's car was towed into our shop as a no-start. We looked at his car and initially thought it was the starter, we call and told him the price was ******. Which he okayed over the phone. When we started the repair, we noticed his battery was not installed properly. We reinstalled his battery correctly and then determined that it was his alternator was bad. We called him back and told him it was his alternator and that the price was ******. He okayed the job and we fixed the car. When we checked out the car after the repair, we found out it was 3 quarts low on oil. It only holds 4 quarts, so we added 3 quarts of oil at a cost of *****. We also replaced the battery in his fab, so his security system would work at a cost of *****. His total bill with ********* sales tax was ******. If he would like a refund of the oil and battery for a total of *****, he may come to the office and request it.There is nothing I can do about the tax, as I am required to collect it for the state of *********. He paid his bill over the phone because he did not think he could pick it up before we closed. No one made him pay his bill without a receipt. I hope this resolves this matter.

My car was towed on private property after the police called for removal. I understand that I am at fault for it not being parked there with a permit. However, I've done some research and found that ** has a maximum billing amount of $150 and $30 for storage. My vehicle was not there longer than 12 hours. I called the business to explain that this was price gauging and that ** has a maximum amount that can be charged and they hung up on me.

This person has never been a customer of ours. I went through my auto repair and towing systems and her name is not anywhere, however I did have a girl friend of someone we towed call to complain about his bill. We told her we do not discuss, bills that are not theirs and she got very angry. I am only guessing it is this person, because I have no name.
