Documentation from the permit inspector showing there was never a final inspection.  I am awaiting his safety report in writing as he said it would not pass final inspection. Permit has expired and MTV solar has not helped all this time I have been having issues. County code enforcement stated that MTV sent them a final yet the inspector stated never done.  The inspectors signatures are different on the two documents with his name on it.  I have a five year warrantee and the company after not only a year and half is refusing to honor it as owner told everyone in company not to talk to me. Thank you.

      Business Response

      Date: 01/31/2024

In May 2020, a sales representative from Mountain View Solar & Wind, LLC began working with ******************************* to design solar and battery backup systems for the main home and cabin at **. ********** ******* property. Due to difficulty obtaining financing, the system was redesigned on numerous occasions to fit the available budget. Over the course of the next couple of years, our representative worked with **. ********* extensively to assist her in finding financing and system designs that would fit both her budget, and her electrical loads. The contracted system designs were presented as a "solid step...than can be expanded". Both systems were installed and commissioned as
contracted. Loads were introduced after installation (most notably, chicken lights) which would significantly impact the expected performance of the system. A detailed loads list is a critical piece of the design equation, and when the expected loads change post-installation, it is unreasonable to expect that the system performance will keep pace with changing load demands.

**. ********** claim alleges that a final inspection was not performed. An inspection was performed on 03/15/22. Her system did indeed go through many contract iterations, all of which you will find conversations between ********************** and our sales representative to substantiate the necessity for the contract adjustments. We have visited **. ********** home on numerous occasions post-installation to address her concerns and verify system functionality. Our warranty is for our workmanship, ************** the manufacturers warranties, however, *** ********** system does not have workmanship nor manufacturer defects to be addressed. We designed and installed functioning solar and battery backup systems per the executed contract, in keeping with industry-best practices, and to the satisfaction of all authorities having jurisdiction.

We have enclosed a copy of the Electrical Inspection, copies of each iteration of the Contract in chronological order, a copy of the permit, emails detailing communication between ********************** and the mtvSolar sales representative that sold her the system. We are happy to provide any additional information which may be helpful in resolving this matter.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered]

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: There was no final inspection. The attached response from company, on page 6 (Appendix D: ** Interconnection agreement) of their response was for the power company and what they sent to the finance companies for them to receive the money. Attached is the **** inspection (rough in and not final) that they didn't include. You will see it wasn't final.  I called for a safety inspection from the county's inspector in which he completed on January 12, 2023. He came out and looked at the system and stated it would not pass a final.  The interesting aspect is that the signatures from the inspector that they submitted do not look anything like the official documents for the initial rough in from the same inspector.  Additionally, I have an almost 3-hour conversation that was recorded from the master electrician blaming it on a ghost load, dirty power from the electric company and admitted that the system was undersized, May 16, 2023. He only came out twice- the first time to explain as no one did how the system is supposed to work. I have a 7-minute video that shows he contradicted himself about the system switching over automatically during that video, April 6, 2022.  I did not have chicken lights as mentioned all year long as it was only that month.  As far as financing they asserted I couldn't get: they split in into two contracts, yet the price stayed the same, and kW went down tremendously, the price still stayed the same. Finance company's are investigating this as fraud considering they did breech the contract stating the final had passed inspection yet inspector stated it wouldn't. Just in  2024 the systems have generated over 1000 alarm events and will not (with only appliances, no lights, or HVAC on etc) will not last when the sun goes down.

      Regards,
