  I hired ******************************************* to represent me in a post-divorce court order modification and child support case filed by my ex-wife. I chose this firm because Mr. ********************** had previously handled my bankruptcy, which was a smooth and straightforward experience. Unfortunately, this time around, I felt largely ignored after my retainer was paid. During a brief, unpleasant phone call, he accused me and my ex of fighting like children over what I considered a critical issue: legal custody of my children. I was even billed for that conversation. He later acknowledged I was right and offered a short apology, but the lack of empathy and care throughout the process left a lasting impression.Although I ultimately won legal custodywhich was the most important outcomethe overall experience felt cold, transactional, and impersonal. No closing remarks, no thank-you, and no follow-up from the firm, just invoices. Watching ************ during the case helped me understand what I was experiencing: a system, and in this case a firm, that seemed more interested in billing than advocacy. If youre looking for compassion, attentiveness, or client-focused service, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

  So let me understand, your ex-wife filed an action to change the custody of your children. An action, that this law firm was able to stop and get dismissed, and you feel this warrants a 1-star review? The way this firms retainers work in family law cases, you were able to communicate with us without being billed through your first hearing. Your pleadings were accurate and correctly prepared. Your inquiries were responded to. Ours is a contractual relationship, once your case progresses beyond the first hearing, you are billed hourly. You appear to be upset that you were billed for the hourly work we performed, but that is exactly what our contractual agreement indicated. I am saddened that you feel the overall experience was cold, transactional, and impersonal. I urge readers of this response to look at the other reviews of our firm and see how all our other clients who have left reviews feel differently than you do. Some cases are difficult, some are not. Some clients are pleasant and some are not. As this review is an outlier in what it states, we will let the reader decide in which category you fall.

  My complaint wasn't about being billed hourly. You missed the main point. Best of luck.
