I paid my tolls online as advised on the paper slips I received at the toll booths. They still billed me by mail a month later, saying I had not paid the tolls. They also tacked on heavy late and administrative fees, which I am not paying.
I passed through the toll booths on April 12th and paid online April 22nd, with charges in full clearing my bank on April 24th.
Do the math. I paid well within the 15-day allotted time period, exactly per website instruction. Why would I owe any fees which were never spoken of as long as the tolls are paid within 15 days? This smacks of extortion, and I fear many have fallen prey to WVPA antics. WVPA needs to be nationally exposed, as many out-of-state I-77 users write as if they have been markedly victimized.

If I could give ZERO Stars to WVA Parkways, I would. They are money-mongering thieves!
I received a dispute note that all charges were dropped. However, I had already paid my violation & they said they could not refund the money! Then somehow, they miraculously found a "second violation" for a date that was prior to the violation previously paid. The new violation was on a Tuesday, and there would be no way I would have traveled during the week through the turnpike. They made up or used old vehicle photos that were not even date stamped, & or the date stamped was removed in order to make fake violations! Then they sent threatening letters to pay for it! How dare you, WVA?! Not so Wild & Wonderful anymore. You can't keep the greed out of your State. So Sad. When you try to dispute it, the call center makes up excuses on why they can't discount it, etc. If you try to pay the violation online, it shows a different amount than the blatant money grab notice they send out. The online forum showed a lesser amount & then it doesn't let you pay online because their "website is messed up & I.T. is working on it." Making you pay more than the online violation total. MONEY GRAB! Also, if you put your violation in a "dispute" state or "pending" state, it should not accrue any charges or fees. This is also a LIE! LIES, LIES, LIES all around from this Authority. You should be ashamed!
It looks like many more reviews and reviews online have faced this same sort of situation. WVA Parkway Authority is pathetic. This is how worthless companies take advantage of the average person. Perhaps if you provide better customer service, don't lie, steal people out of their money, or forge documents, you would be a BBB Accredited Business.

I didt have an EZ pass and went through 2 tolls without paying. On my way back, 5 days later. I stopped and talked to the teller. She looked up my license plate and said I owe $10.50 cents. I paid cash and asked for a receipt and off I went. 2 months later I get a notice in the mail stating, I owe $10.50 cents and I am also being charged $70.00 dollars in fees. Lucky, I saved my receipt and called WVPA. I was told to email the supervisor pictures of the receipt in which I did. I then received an email stating, my violation is dismissed. My concern is how many people get burned from this company every single day? The average person will not get a receipt or if they do. The chances of them throwing it out are high because they are given a notice of a violation months after. West Virginia Parkway Authority are scammers. Moral of the story, don’t trust anybody and keep documentation in an area where you won’t forget.

Unpaid toll invoices should be paid through one of the methods listed on the invoice that is presented to the customer (online, 800 number or through the US mail). While cash payments for unpaid toll invoices can be made at the toll plaza it can sometime lead to errors in posting the payment. Having the cash receipt available allowed our office to quickly dismiss the violation that was issued. However, if the receipts were not available from the customer, the WV Parkways Customer Service Center would have completed further research to confirm payment and dismiss the violation.
