I began to receive 'treatments' on my lawn and pest control services in March of 2023 by West Virginia Green. I have called in April and June (approx. the 5th) to request someone come to my house and walk the area and see the damage and how the lawn was dying all over after the applications. No answer. I left a message and Eric attempted to call, but I was not home. I returned his call--leaving a message since he didn't answer. Never heard from him in June. No one came out to try to resolve the problem.
Today, July 6, 2023, Anthony came to apply pesticide and a 'treatment' to the lawn. I never know when they are going to come and I was in the shower and did not know he was here until he was just finishing up. I went and told him I don't want him to spray anymore--and he walked the yard with me--listening and looking at the dozens of problem areas and the pests eating on the shrubs against the house. He took some pictures and explained that Ron ****** was the owner and he called him. Mr. ****** called me back and began to tell me I "don't know what I'm talking about " and refused to come view the problems. I hotly cancelled service in between his rudeness, and followed up with a certified letter of discontinuance of services mailed to Mr. ******.
I am requesting a refund of the $535.30 I paid to this company ($333.90 in April and $201.40 paid in June) so I can use those funds to attempt to restore my yard from the damage caused by this company. I also want my current bill ($299.98) to be cleared. I should not have to pay for a company that shows up with no notice and provides scam services and damages my property even more, especially since I contacted the office and Eric (2 separate calls on different days) prior to let them know my dissatisfaction. Pictures attached show the damage I have been trying to address with West Virginia Green, unsuccessfully. NONE OF THIS DAMAGE WAS PRESENT WHEN THEY BEGAN IN MARCH, 2023.

    Business Response

    I have
included the initial estimate that was provided to the customer on 3/13/23. As
you can see from the estimate our process throughout the first year of service
is in writing and was left/explained to Tina the day of the estimate. This
estimate along with our conversation with Tina was no different than any other customer
over our last 16 years of service. We have 2000 active customers and the
program is always the same. We do offer add on applications if necessary and
give the customer at the time of the estimate all of our recommendations/
expectations for the year. Property sketch number 1-5 on the estimate paperwork explaining
to Tina what she should expect for 23-24 season. Tina had this explained to
her on multiple occasions that she has Bentgrass. Bentgrass is an invasive species
of grass that browns out in late summer (#4 on estimate). We also explained that tenacity treatments(literature
left) would kill all of the Bentgrass and we would aerate and seed in the Fall of 2023 (#5 on estimate)  After getting rid of the bentgrass it would no longer be brown. She would need to follow our program to get a result. This is a process and getting a beautiful
yard does not happen overnight. Her yard, like all yards, take one full year of
service(5 treatments) and recommendations(2 tenacity treatments and Aeration
and seeding) to get the yard we would both want. (please see customer reviews attached for testimony of this process) Tina then called after only 3 applications! She began to yell and degrade myself and staff and would not listen to the
expectations she should have for her lawn after only 3 applications. Her defamation
of WV Green then started on ********, she has posted multiple bad reviews. Our
current customers have commented (see reviews) and explained to her that she
needed to trust the process. Our
customers tried to explain that she should follow WV Greens recommendation and
to give the yard time to recover.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

They have added things to the document AFTER the dispute was brought to their attention. Please note that MY copy of the same document does not have the any of the inexplainable 'notes.'  I can also provide a copy of THEIR same document that was sent to me as a primary defense--without the added information. Why are they adding things on that document? My complaint is simple: No one from this company has EVER met with me.  Concerns cannot be addressed on the phone. The third application of chemicals was applied the early  morning of July 6.  I did not see him arrive. There was never a call or a date given to show when they are coming.  Nothing in the document provided by this company does it show, explain, or even allude to, that service will kill off the yard, then must aerate & plant a new one--which is NOT included in the 'plan' price. To Be Determined on the PRICE and listed as only a 'recommendation.'  It feels like blackmail.
I just want this horrid experience to end. The worker on July 6 left a bill for $299.90.  My request is that they remove this billing.  I sent a certified letter confirming the severance of services on 7/7/23,they have refused to pick it up at their post office. That is what will resolve my complaint with the BBB-remove the billing and confirm cancellation.
