    We’ve had an issue with this gas company for years. They haven’t fixed the problem and now no one will answer our calls/text messages. We’ve been without heat at night and some of the day for a week now with -5 temperatures here. I have small children and have stressed this. We’ve been running small electric heaters but they just aren’t cutting it in this weather. There isn’t enough gas in the lines and when it’s cold it freezes up every time and no matter how many times they’re told this by everyone that lives down this road. Nothing is done. The guy who actually owns this company lives in SC and is never here and will not respond or answer calls. Please help.

    This response is in regard to a recent  complaint made on January 23, 2025 by ******* *****, a member of the E.C.C.A., INC. private gas line.

    As I, Barbra L******, Treasurer of said gas line, sympathize with, and understand ********* concern for the welfare of herself and her family, others on this gas line, including myself, were out of gas for a temporary time frame on two different occasions; however, contact was made to Curtis W******, president and care taker of the line and per his advice and effort, resolution of the restoration of gas to my home and others was to pull the plunger at the meter which in turn would allow the gas to come through and heating appliances could be re-lit for usage.

    The lines in the winter become
    problematic, not because they are in need of repair, but because moisture gets into them, and they have to be replenished with methanol, which Mr. W****** and gas line member, David C*******, promptly attend to. Hence, the reason for President W****** and myself rejecting ********* letter of complaint as legitimate as well as for the following reason that she wrote in her complaint explanation.

    In her complaint she wrote:

    "We've had an issue with this gas company for years. // There isn't enough gas in the lines and when it's cold it freezes up every time."

    Therefore, because of her awareness of potential problems that could occur, after the years that she has been a member, she and her family do have other options such as having a backup heating system, i.e., propane gas, conversion to an electric furnace, etc.

    There are 19 people on the line, and when President ******* is made aware of issues in the winter like this, he takes care of the matter as promptly as he can, and not one of the other gas line members has ever made a complaint as ******* has made.

    I hope this response brings this matter to a helpful resolution, and should you need any further assistance, I would be glad to hear from you.
