They billed for a service they did not supply. They said it was for a contact fitting but ****** ******** my son did not have a contact fitting. He had a regular eye exam. He has gone there for years and even though he got a prescription for contacts last year and sent it off to have filled he wasn’t billed to get that prescription. When I called they said the contact fitting included the prescription, a traial pair of contacts and something else. All we got was a written prescription to send off.

The patient in question presented to our office wearing contact lenses full time.  He has eyeglasses but per the patient he rarely wears them.  Since he was wearing contact lenses and indicated he wanted to continue wearing contacts, we provided a contact lens examination which resulted in an updated contact lenses prescription.  The person questioning the examination was not in attendance.  The patient had been fitted for contact lenses in our office prior to this visit without complaint.  We did not have a stock/free pair of contacts in stock to dispense to the patient, however a trial pair was ordered.  We provided the service in question.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

No I was not in attendance at this appointment but my mother was and after talking to her,  my son and the person at the eye doctor I was explained to what was done. My mother when asking what the charge was for was told three different reasons so someone there does not know what they are doing. He was not given a special contact eye exam. He was given an eye exam. There was no contact fitting according to my son. In 2021 and 2022 there was no such charge to get his contact prescription written out even though they say they always charge to write a prescription. I’ve never heard of any doctor office charging a total of $60 to write a prescription.
