first, they said my site prep was done wrong. plot was not level and the postholes weren't on center. they charged an additional $4000+ to redo the site prep; plot is still not level and the post holes are not on center. THEY CHARGED FOR SITE PREP AND THEN BUILT ON A SITE THAT WASN'T LEVEL. they used the available fill on other parts of the lot that was not in their scope of work. they also didn't dig the drainage ditch as we discussed so now there's rain runoff under the building. second, we agreed that i would provide lumber unless it was something not commonly available. they billed me another $1000 for 2x4 lumber when there was lumber staged onthe site that they didn't think to use. third, they charged additional $6000 for work that I didn't agree to. when I talked to roger harrison the owner of the company about it he screamed raging nonsense and threatened to maintain a lein on my property. he also threatened to cut the building down.
the carpentry seems to be well done but the administrative end is a total ripoff of lies, manipulations and padding the costs. Harrison is a total lying theiving moneygrubbing parasite. an infantile unhinged screamer who's word is worthless. this guy can't hold his end of any deal. they totally blew my budget with unauthorised costs that i never agreed to and now they're using leins to extort payment. If you want to keep your project costs under control, these are not the guys to deal with. they also left cigarette butts everywhere. now I have to hire a contractor to level the foundation with a building in place? work done wrong begets more work and more costs. Harrison complains incessantly that his clients don't pay him. HONEST, CONSISTENT BILLING GETS YOU PAID IN FULL ON TIME. INFLATED, OPPORTUNISTIC DISHONEST BILLING GETS YOU CONFLICTS, NOT REVENUE!!! Id be happy to pay a contractor who can simply do the job right for the price we agreed to. RCH doesn't do that.
