2/27 and 3/8 On 2/27 Plumbers came out to snake the main line and needed to fix a pipe. Total cost was $682. On 3/8 a city worker came to look for an extended break in the line. They were unable to enter the basement because the cap the plumbing trust placed blew. We were told it was too small and they used black tape to hold it in place. We have them recorded admitting they used a pipe too small, needed steel but used brass and only used it because they didn't have another cap. Also recorded, is one of the plumbers saying we weren't informed of this temporary fix because the plumber thought it would hold. I pointed out that it didn't, proving incompetence and neglect. When speaking to the owner he did not show remorse, said he stood by their work even after being presented the information. We informed him we are also a historic cemetery Lodge that holds headstones in the basement which were desecrated due to this avoidable incident. He did not care and blamed a back up in the line even after we told him the city worker said this wasn't due to pressure buildup. We told the owner we were requesting a full refund, repairs to any part of the basement that was damaged due to the leak, based on the inspectors report, and a professional cleaning crew for the basement since all they offered was a couple buckets of chemicals sloshed on the floor, a shopvac to remove the puddles of sewer, and a pipe that was melted to fit in the cast iron piping. Needless to say, he declined. We are now in the process of pursuing legal action. I also have a video showing the state of the basement that could not be uploaded due to size.
