On Wednesday, January 17, 2024 I called a number of dental providers in an attempt to have an appointment scheduled (tooth extraction). Dr. William Myers office was contacted on that day and I was told that their policy prevented appointments being schedule without x-rays having been sent in advance. I was then told that I would need to contact my dentist and call back after x-rays were sent. I did not call back because the first opening I was told was in February and I needed my tooth pulled as soon as possible. *** ****** ** ********* was also listed within network and was able to get me in on January 18, 2024. I called today after returning from a work trip having received a voicemail (February 28th while out of town). According to the voicemail which I no longer have, my x-rays were still not received but I had an appointment scheduled for the 29th at 1 pm. Having only arrived back today I called and was told by the office manager that she decided to waive the policy and scheduled me an appointment that I then missed. I was then informed that I would be considered a no show and would receive a no show fee. I questioned how a no show fee could be applied to an appointment I did not make and was met with a lot of hostility. My fear is that this office might have or will do this to someone else. While I understand the no show fee, I do not feel it should be applied to appointment made solely by the office manager (******* with no input from the patient. Efforts have been made to discuss this with ****** but all efforts are only met with an unprofessional attitude.
