Home inspection performed by company advertising itself as having geotechnical/civil engineer experience (!).
Inspection mentioned minor foundation cracks. Seller patched one, the rest seemingly passed as not important in re-inspection report. I bought the house, thinking therefore that there were no major issues.
The inspector had not recognized a more serious issue of "wall push" though. This is progressing an inch a year or so apparently. Needs attention to the tune of over 20K, something that is not currently in my budget as an older medically needy woman who has just moved/paid closing costs etc.
Odd phenomenon with the floor caused me to contact specialist geotechnical person ********* ********* **** ********************* ** area) only a month and a half or so after moving in, whose technician (name available if requested) came and conducted their expert assessment, and told me this was something that should have been noticed and mentioned in the main home inspection for the house...but wasn't (the ******** ********* people were indeed shown the original inspection report, so they saw the assessment and photos etc. to base this opinion on). I have mentioned this to DHI, but they are not addressing it, and just claim they are "reviewing". Local lawyer I consulted said he had pursued a complaint with them before (fire!) & they don't even have *** insurance (or not at that time). They have rave reviews on the Internet. I feel like they could be addressing this issue with more seriousness (they seem to hope I will just go away), because the issue has to be taken care of and I would not have bought the house if I knew I'd have to put over 20K more bucks into it in a short period of time. I have already asked the ******** *******, which pointed me to legal action. Would rather not waste money on legal proceedings. Could write complaints/reviews to make sure other folks be more careful when using this 5-star company, but I would rather just resolve privately.

    Better Business Bureau:

Hi, the company said that it was not liable. So it is really a legal issue.
I still have the complaint, and I think something that serious that was missed should be on their record.
The problem was that they did the inspection for a previous interested buyer, who backed out.
I piggybacked on their inspection report for HIM and had them check the fixes that the seller made.
    They ok'd them.
But because their orig. agreement was with the previous interested party, they consider I was not covered by any agreement.
Despite the fact that I am dealing with a huge problem that they should not have missed.
