Purchased fridge. Not aware it did not dispense cold water. MY OLD ONE DID. Paid a lot of money and not happy with purchase. Wanted to order a refrigerator of lesser value that would dispense cold or chilled water for the price I paid for the one I got. Said no cause the one you have is now used. I am not happy with this refrigerator and they have rejected my request.

    Business Response

    Date: 08/23/2024

Mrs. ********* came into our store on July 5, 2024, and purchased a Frigidaire French door refrigerator Model # ********** which we delivered and set up on July 12, 2024, and she accepted the refrigerator. She called the store on 7/15/2024 complaining that the water from the water dispenser was not cold. Once a piece is accepted it is no longer eligible for return, especially after food has been put into it.

Enclosed is a copy of the terms and conditions (Exhibit 1) which were explained to her including the fact that once the customer has accepted the appliance the sale is a finalized sale. She did sign the form (Exhibit 2).

Also enclosed is a copy of the page from the manual for the refrigerator which says "Dispensed water is not chilled. For colder water, add ice to the cup or container before dispensing water" (Exhibit 3). Water dispensers differ per brand and model number. Apparently, the ** refrigerator she was replacing had colder water. The importance of how cold she wanted the water was not mentioned when looking at refrigerators. Most people are not concerned about the temperature of the water because they add ice from the ice the dispenser before they dispense water. The refrigerator is functioning correctly.

The refrigerator is still in her home. As far as we know it is operating as it should.

    Sincerely

    The Appliance Connection

    Customer Answer

According to the letter from Appliance Connection, “cancellations & returns” no appliance may be return for credit or replacement except by special arrangement”.  I called them 3 days after getting the refrigerator telling them it didn’t dispense cold water after I found the info in the manual.

I was under the assumption it dispensed cold water.  However it was only in the manual I found out. I was not told differently when I purchased it.  They could have taken it back the day after it was delivered since there was no food in it cause I had a mini fridge I was using.

I offered to buy one that cost less than this one & they could keep what I paid for this one.  They refused.  Apparently, they care nothing about “customer satisfaction”.  I will never buy anything from them & would recommend anyone else not to buy from the.  They are only interested in the money.  I would not have purchased it if I had known it did not dispense cold water.

People I have told this to are under the impression if there are dispenses in the door, you will get cold water.

Apparently some companies are not informing customers with respect to the dispensers not dispensing cold water.  They will find out like me when they go to the manual my ** I replaced dispensed ice cold water.
