Handicapped access bathroom, repaired rotted subfloor and new tile throughout shower & bath.
One of the floor tiles was chipped at the completion of installation and worker said it would be ordered and repaired.
5 1/2 months later, no repair. Shower curtain is hung our too far for the water that hits it to run back to the drain consequently it runs across bathroom floor (which I understand has all been waterproofed) onto bedroom carpet and soaks into subfloor in bedroom (which isn't waterproof)
Tried numerous times to talk to sales person. She has promised the problem will be fixed but it has not. She has promised to have installer contact me, which he has not. Today I tried to contact owner who put me on hold and then hung up on me.
I should have cancelled my project with them before it ever began when they tried to charge me $600 extra for using their "free" credit card financing.

We contracted with customer on 6/7/24. We were gutting an entire bathroom to make a Handicap accessible shower. Installation took place during the month of July.  During the installation, the customer was sizing the shower out with her husbands chair and it somehow chipped a tile before we had grouted.

When the customer called today, she spoke to a salesman, he put her on hold it and disconnected.  We called her right back and told her the installer would contact her. He has done so as of 12/9/24 1:00pm.

The interest free finance is interest free. However, like a credit card, there is one time fee to run the card. When we brought that up and the customer was upset about it, we waved the charge instantly for her.

A repair is set up for 12/16 with end user and our installation team.

I have had flooring put in my house from this business. They came to my house yesterday to finish flooring in my bathroom. They removed the toilet to put the floor under the toilet. They had asked my husband for a plunger but we didn't have one. I was outside during their work. I went into the house about 10 minutes later to check on things. My husband told me that they had left and he wasn't sure what they were doing because they never told him when they left. I went into the bathroom and everything seemed to be done. A few hours later I flushed that toilet that they removed and it started to overflow so I had to shut off the water to stop it. The next morning I called and talked to one of the owners and informed him about what was going on. He told me that he would take care of it and would call me back to let me know what was going on. He called back and said that they couldn't come look at it until Monday morning, and this was on Saturday morning. I told him that that was unexcusable and that I would not wait until Monday morning. I told him that I expected them there on that day. He said he would call me back, which he never did. I waited until the afternoon and called the store and was told that no one was in the store except the lady to answer the phone. I explained to her who I was and why I was calling. She told me that in everything that she knew about it that the installers would come on Monday to plunge it. I had earlier told the owner and the salesman that we dealt with that I would not wait until Monday morning and if they didn't fix it on Saturday that I would call a professional plumber and I would send their bill to the store to be paid. No one responded to this. The salesman had texted and called me during the day but he only gave me excuses about everything. He did tell me that the installers had stuffed toilet paper in the floor drain after they took the toilet off and they forgot to remove it before putting the toilet back on.

We went to her house Monday and plunged the toilet. ****** called and said it was still moving slowly. We went back up and snaked the toilet and flushed it 5 times with her standing with us and she said it was fine now.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Adjustments were made to the installed floor after the inspection report was received by our contractor. An additional 3 cases of material was purchased at that time.  The material appears to be cheaply constructed and since purchased has been discontinued by the manufacturer.  I have placed 3 phone calls to **** *********, a representative for the distributor that facilitated the inspection. My calls have gone unanswered . I’m asking that the flooring be inspected post repair for defects post inspection.  The flooring is failing in almost every area in our kitchen and this room’s use is very light with only 2 of us residing here.

    Regards,

    ***** ********

    Business Response

I have attached a letter from the distributor of the flooring as well as the inspection report that came back as an installation related issue.

The ********* purchased LVT flooring off us 5/18/21 as a cash and carry. They had their own installer for the project. They called sometime later about some issues with their flooring and we went and did an inspection while the ********* were out of town, even though we did not install the flooring.  We noticed a handful of issues with no expansion allowance to the kitchen island as well as the back wall in the kitchen. The subfloor was NOT leveled by their contractor and it was easy to feel by walking over the floor. That is noted in the report of the independent inspector.  The contractor also nailed TWO metal transition into the flooring, which install instruction note NOT to do because it could cause a "pinch point" and make the floor buckle. The contractor also face nailed some planks and that is also an issue with a floating floor. That is also documented in the letter and inspection report. The flooring distributor line did have issues back in 2019 and Zambito Flooring did NOT dispute that to *********. When their contractor purchased 2 boxes in an attempt to fix the installation related problems he was told the floor needed to be leveled. If that was NOT done then the problems would re occur.

We simply sold this flooring and have detailed reports showing this is an installation issue and not a product issue nor a Zambito Flooring responsibility.

We have attached a letter from the Distributor. The existing subfloor needs to be leveled, as show in the inspection report. If all that has been done we are happy to assist the ********* with a list of independent inspectors.
