I hired ****** ********* to power wash and stain the exterior and paint the interior of my house in August 2023 with the understanding that he would start in two weeks. We signed a contract to that effect on 8/8/23 and I gave him a 50% deposit of $6,455.00.

Shiloh did not do any work. His excuses included his claim that he “couldn’t reach the stain/paint company to order the supplies; the stain/paint company told him I had to pick new colors because my choice wouldn’t work on cedar; he didn’t want to deal with the supply company I chose because the guy was a liar; he had COVID; he had other work to finish; and finally, he would do the work in Spring 2024.”

Shiloh came to the house on Oct 8, 2023 with a new contract he wanted me to sign. He stated that he wanted to save me money due to the delay. He said that my deposit was now the full amount for the exterior. I told him that I wanted my deposit returned. He kept trying to convince me to sign the new contract. I told him I was not interested in signing any new contracts. He said he would give me a refund and left. I did not receive the refund.

I sent him a certified letter and emailed a copy on November 7, 2023 requesting the refund from the contract he terminated. That same day, I received numerous emails and texts in response indicating he had no intention of returning my deposit and that he would be here in March 2024 as our contract was not breakable unless “we agree to terminate.”

To date, Shiloh has yet to return my deposit as requested. I do not want him to complete the work in March 2024 due to the above.

****** and I have a signed contract to paint the exterior and interior of her parents cabin, located in Terra Alta, WV. The contract specifies many things which ****** wants to negate. One of which is the termination of our contract which was never agreed upon. It was RECOMMENDED at one point that the contract be terminated ONLY if replaced in a way that favored ****** ****** in simplifying the process and breaking it down to doing a contract for exterior of the house followed by a contract for the interior (which she declined). She has been very indecisive in both her color selection as well as timing for the project to begin on her part. This to me was evidence as to why other contractors have turned down her job.She did not pay her full deposit of 50% upfront as agreed. She blamed this on her parents as this is where she had to get the money. I have met with ****** and spoken with her many times. I have proof through messages and third-party phone calls that she did not want us to start the project until the spring. This was her decision.****** complained that it was cold inside her house and that the chimney was the cause of it. We agreed to help her out with the prep work and replace the rotted wood under her chimney (pictures attached). A job that most contractors would estimate to be about anywhere from $2,000-$3,000 with labor and the hazards of the access fecal matter and decay from rodents and potential moldy interior surfaces. I have tried to work with ****** to settle this matter and I have no problem returning a settlement from the work that has been done. She has been non-responsive and unwilling to negotiate in any form. I have proof through messages and recordings as well as third party evidence for our phone calls and in-person conversations. I would like BBB as well as anyone reading this to really review this complaint and understand this is a Contractor BEWARE !!!
