On 4/15/2022 I visited Miracle-Ear in Casper due to problems with my hearing aids. I had previously been there and given them a deposit towards hearing aids which I lost due to not going through with the transaction at that time. The Sales Rep (Loren) suggested the MECONNECT 4 RIC312 model at a cost of over $8,000.00. I told him I could not possibly afford that much for hearing aids even with financing. Loren told me that if I would agree to a 30 day trial period he could refund the deposit I had previously made / lost, then I could simply return the new/expensive model in 30 days and get a different more affordable model at that time.

On the standard purchase form contract, Loren placed the handwritten notation “30 day trial” with his signature. Also, the I did not initial the sections of the standard form contract referring to the “Cancellation-Within Three Days” or “Exchange-Within Ninety Days” (both of which were followed by “Purchaser’s Initials _____”). What I did not understand is that Loren had also submitted a finance / loan agreement with Ally, which HE signed electronically. He did not explain or go over with me that this wasn’t through Miracle Ear, that this was a 4 year loan agreement, that it had a 9.99% interest rate, or a $170 monthly payment. He did tell me not to worry if I got a bill before the end of the 30 day trial period because it would not be due before the end of the period.

I had scheduled an appointment within the 30 day period to return the hearing aids which Miracle Ear cancelled due to snow conditions (Loren was snowed in / could not come into the office). On my next appointment Loren informed me I could no longer return the hearing aids because the 30 day period had ended. When I reminded / asked him about HIS office cancelling the appointment he told me it wouldn’t matter because I would have needed to give Miracle Ear four opportunities to adjust or repair the hearing aid which does not appear in contract.
