My daughter, Autumn, went in to have her vehicle serviced for over heating while idling. She was asked to fill out a form explaining what was going on with said vehicle. She wrote on the form that she believes it is the cooling fan, for another mechanic told her and she needed to get it fixed, they fixed a bunch of stuff costing $900. She paid thinking all was well. Not even a week later her car is over heating, takes it back and NOW it’s the cooling fan and it will be another $400. I went in today with her, 07/28/2023 at about 12:15pm asking to see the receipt and the form she filled out. The gal goes to the back, and about 7-10 min later another woman appears with the receipt, no form. I asked where it is to show Autumn told them it was the cooling fan needing replaced, the woman with glasses, crooked nose pieces, tells me well when she brought it in it was working properly! I said no it wasn’t, she had another mechanic tell her it was the problem. They blatantly “fixed” other things not touching the fan and charged her $900 when it was the fan and should have charged her $300-$400. I want them to take accountability for taking advantage of a young 19 yr old lady coming to them for work to be done and fixing the fan for no additional cost since this is what it was taken in for, or giving her a refund of the cost to go elsewhere.

Backwards Mechanics in Mills, Wyoming has given us a false insurance packet to accompany an over 8-thousand dollar engine repair which was spent at their shop last September. After receiving a replacement engine which was in poor shape (causing us to wait 4 extra days for them to get another used engine), they installed a 122,000 mile engine. Zero compensation was offered for the mishap, not a single courtesy in labor costs or anything - even if this part was not their doing. For this incredibly high price, they told us that any oil leak or other issue to do with the replacement engine would be covered by an insurance we could contact from a packet they provided and be used where we live. Since we have left their shop, their communication and service have been horrendous. Their receptionist reads texts and ignores. When we called in she stated we should send the repair receipt from our local mechanic and they would look into why it wasn't covered as they promised, and that they would be refunding us. Instead, she continued to ignore everything sent by text, calls from our number and letters which included the threat of this complaint. The owner, whom admitted to be an extreme cheapskate while discussing our repair, has also ignored letters regarding this dishonest and lazy receptionist addressed directly to her as owner of the business. All we asked was for our $372 to be refunded and they have obviously not kept their word. Makes us wonder how much they have lied to us regarding the costs. They may appear to be good people, but apparently it's just a cover. We will continue to spread word across the internet to encourage each and every other potential customer to go elsewhere.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The company is writing a complete lie here. They did not contact us once in regards to this case until the evening that the complaint was filed in the afternoon. They called at nearly 10pm on a Sunday. When we tried to reply the next day they were back to ignoring us. They have our cell number and the complete log of events is still on a text thread on our phone. We paid $8,000+ for a used engine with over 122,000 miles on it. Backwards Mechanics stated *without question* that ******* would cover any repairs needed on the new engine. Any oil leaks included, or they would pay for it themselves. If they send us our $372 refund we will update the complaint. As of now, everything that we have stated is an exact account of what occurred. This company is cheap and unprofessional from top to bottom.

    Regards,

I am rejecting this response because:

Backwards Mechanics is not being honest about what they've told us. Again, *any* problems with replacement engine were to be covered. Again, they are lying about contacting us. There were zero voice mails. Check the text thread on ***** ******** to see how much ******* has ignored us.

We have the entire thread of text messages where the business blatantly ignored us. Completely unprofessional company that lies and rips people off. We were advised that anything that needed to be repaired on this engine which we paid Backwards Mechanics $8,000 for would be covered in full. The small receipt top left was the down payment on the engine. Added to the bottom right fees the total was over $8,000. Here is attached proof of the repair charges followed by their excessive charges to us which occurred before the $372 repair request.
