On Thursday, September 5th my husband took my vehicle in for an oil change to take 5, as we've done the last year. During this service, take 5 informed him that they chose to **** the oil from the top, due to there having been an oversized plug put in my oil pan. Out of the last several visits to take 5, this has never been mentioned and the oil has always been suctioned from the bottom. They stated they topped off all fluids too and the coolant only took a few drops. The car was then driven home and parked for the night until my kids needed to be at school the next morning. This is when the car was observed to have no fluids in it. It was immediately parked at my home and scheduled into a certified mechanic. The mechanic stated my coolant reservoir had been cracked and that an oversized plug had been put into my oil pan several times. Take 5 was contacted and after some back and forth, they agreed they were at fault for the oil pan and agreed to pay the 455 dollars to replace it. They have verbally agreed to replace it to me a few times, however when the mechanic calls for payment- they don't answer.

    subject: Re: BBB - ****** ******

Goodmorning *****, i was out of the shop yesterday this is what i sent to the disputes email. Thank you for the help so far.

Hello, I am reaching out today to dispute a complaint filed against our shop on 9/23/24. ****** ****** had brought her vehicle in for service almost every 5 thousand miles multiple times before the complaint, before her last time in there was almost ****** miles in-between services indicating she had received service from another shop. Her oil pan threads were stripped on arrival forcing us to use an oversize drain plug to properly seal the oil pan. We informed her of this action both verbally and noted on her receipt ticket. When her husband brought the vehicle in next, he was not aware and proceeded to file a complaint with the BBB. Instead of playing the "he said she said" game we decided to cover the cost of a new oil pan in a act of good customer service. Part of this agreement was we would cover the cost and they would retract their complaint. Above is a copy of the invoice from the repair. We have all of her previous tickets with accurate milage and vehicle damage documented. Along with recorded phone conversations of our agreement. We just realized the complaint is still up and want to handle this the correct way. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Thank you.
