Had a cabin booked at Yellowstone Cutthroat Guest Ranch at 53 Stagecoach Trail, Cody, Wyoming 82414 for May 25th and 26th 2024. Stopped at the ranch the morning of May 25th to make sure our reservations were good for both nights because we couldn't reach the lodge by phone, it kept going to a personal voicemail. Upon arriving at the ranch it appeared deserted and had for sale signs posted on the property. There was a man staying in an RV on the property whom we spoke with. He called the owner, Courtney Hooper, and I had a conversation with her. She said she had our reservations and was going to have the room cleaned by the time we returned and the cabin would be unlocked and the key would be on the table inside Bunkhouse A. When we returned at 8:30 pm it was cold, raining hard and windy and Bunkhouse A was locked. No one else was on the property. The man in the RV was gone along with his RV. The main restaurant/office building was deserted and empty. Void of any furniture, tables or chairs. It appeared like it hadn't been occupied in a long time. There are picnic tables on the attached patio of the main building and one of the tables had recently deceased birds on it and old feathers all over the table. Mrs. Hooper runs the ranch business through Cassie's Steakhouse, which she also owns. We called Cassie's Steakhouse and an employee said Mrs. Hooper was busy and couldn't come to the phone. I explained I was a guest at the ranch and the room was locked and we couldn't get in. The employee put me on ho!d to go get Mrs. Hooper. Mrs. Hooper sent the employee back to the phone immediately and simply said I'll refund your money, so we didn't go back for the 26th based on that comment, but she charged me anyway. She never offered to bring us the key or have someone else bring us the key, she just said I'll refund your money. Mrs Hooper is renting rooms at a vacant property then not allowing access.
She's not providing the advertised services but taking the money for them.
