I sold my ****** this past summer on ******** marketplace and started looking for a new car. My options for dealerships were limited so I decided to go with ****** since it was the closest place possible. I found this nice looking 2013 F150 3.5L ecoboost with close to ******* miles with a tiny bit of rust so I decided to test drive it. Everything worked fine except when you tried bringing the car past 55mph the engine light would flash and then turn off eventually and would also misfire and **** when I tried putting the car under any type of load. I confronted the dealership about it and they told me that the car had no mechanical issues even when I told them about the misfiring and the engine light going off so I decided that I would take there word for it since the car had passed there mandatory inspection I thought that everything must be fine so I went ahead and purchased the vehicle. I was driving on a road that had a speed limit of 70mph so I decided to step on the accelerator to bring my car up to the speed limit. The car would not go past 60mph and would misfire until the engine light started flashing and I had to pull the car off to the side of the road since it went into limp mode and I was starting to impede traffic. Frustrated with the dealership selling me a car they claimed to be in perfect working condition I called them confronting them about the issue and they had told me that there was nothing they could do since I bought the car as is. They offered to take a look at it for me so I decided to bring the car in for them to take a look at it. I parked the car in the used car section and handed the keys over and left it overnight for them to inspect it the following day. I came the next day and I was immediately suspicious since the car was sitting in the same spot I had parked it and they proceeded to tell me that there was no issues with the car even though there clearly was.

      Hello,

Please the attached repair orders and Carfax for this vehicle. Our initial used vehicle inspection showed no mention of any type of a drivability issue, only that the vehicle need rear brakes, which we replaced. On August 1, 2024, Mr. ***** purchased this vehicle from Teton Motors with ****** miles on it. Mr. ***** returned to Teton Motors on October 1, 2024 with a complaint of a misfire. You can see by the comments from our technician that he drove the vehicle and could not duplicate the concern. At that time the vehicle had ****** miles on it.

According to the Carfax, the vehicle was also inspected by Big O Tires in *******, WY. The vehicle had ****** miles on it at that time. It is my understanding that Big O was not able to duplicate the concerns either.

The Carfax also indicates that this vehicle had an inspection performed on it in ******** with ******* miles on it. By this time the would have traveled nearly ***** miles. I find it somewhat difficult to believe that if the concern with the truck was so severe, that it would have traveled cross-country with this condition.

Additionally, Mr. ***** signed a We Owe and a Buyers Guide acknowledging that he was purchasing this vehicle in as is condition and with no remaining factory or Dealer warranty.

Teton Motors sold this vehicle in good faith and we do not believe that we should be held liable for any restitution.

      Thank you.
