Cothren Plumbing and Construction did not perform in the way stated in our contract. The work was horribly done, there was damage to our home, and communication was inexcusable. The floor was not shimmed so it was level before the install. The pattern is off on the floor. The transition pieces that matches the floor were not utilized, and brass pieces were purchased by contractor and then charged to me. There is a spot that cracks when walked over. Trim corners were not mitered. The trim is chunked in instead of being cut to fit. **** said he was not able to finish the caulking and painting due to working too much and not spending time with his family. So I stated my husband could finish since I was put into an awkward situation, but we still had to pay the full $400 to install the trim. Texture on walls was horrible. Super heavy in some places, and lighter in others. There is texture all over the windows, bedroom door, and into the bathroom because nothing was taped off. The paint is splotchy in the sunlight. Because nothing was taped off, paint from the spray gun got on our ceiling. **** touched it up with white paint, but it was not the same color. The back wall in the alcove was not prepped for texture and paint. You can still see glue from where the old paneling, there are visible holes in the wall, and there are nails sticking out of the wall that were just textured and painted over. Paint was tracked through our laundry room and has ruined the floor in there. The Pullman in the bathroom is destroyed because nothing was taped off. He got texture/paint all over my antique perfume bottles. All the sheets of drywall and our closet doors left out in the rain and weather and were destroyed. I was not asked what to do with them, and we now have to purchase new closet doors. **** and *******, after finally being able to get ahold of them after they blocked me on all social media and my phone number, refunded me 75% of the quoted price. This did NOT include materials.

Hi ****,Were sorry to hear you had such a terrible experience. We, however, do not remember the encounter with you in any way that youre stating. We have text messages from you stating that your room was looking amazing on multiple occasions. You definitely gave the go ahead and okay to everything on multiple occasions as well. We were in the wrong by not contacting your husband and well and making sure he was okay with it as you guys did not seem to be on the same page once he returned home. We also have document stating that the room was in very poor condition before we arrived. This includes but is certainly not limited to- uneven flooring, a sagging ceiling, uneven corners and multiple different sizes of drywall, etc. It was highly recommended that the room be stripped down to the studs and be completely redone as there were multiple things that our company could not fix without doing so. To be cost effective on your behalf, we agreed to a partial remodel with the advice on extras that needed to be done to the room on the near future to get it where it needs to be. There were two witnesses there when you told **** to leave the doors where they were. If a client tells our company not to touch their personal property or material that they have purchased, out of respect for them and customer satisfaction, we dont touch it. As for the caulking comment, thats unfortunately a blatant lie. There were certain things that you either wanted to do or offered to do as it gave you something to do while your husband was gone or you planned to do it when he got home. You were not charged for it. I can promise and assure you of that. We also have documentation with explanation of every thing you mentioned above. You loved the room and remodel to the fullest extent and then decided 2 weeks later that we (in your words): horrible work. You were blocked on all platforms after the fact because you were threatening us with blackmail which is illegal and told us if we dont give you money in x amount of days you will blast our company. **** prides himself and his company on customer satisfaction and he was very disappointed to hear how displeased you were with the room after two weeks and fully agreed to sending you over $1600 back- which he did. The money sent back covered his labor. Essentially all you paid for in the end were parts. You wanted a refund and you absolutely got one, our company is confused as to why its been 2 years and youre reopening a situation that we felt had been resolved on our end. We sincerely apologized to you and had told you we hoped you found a contractor who better fit your needs.
