    My elderly mother tried for two months to discontinue service with the Riverton WY Verizon Authorized Dealer, after experiencing months of service problems with them. Over several months, she made numerous trips to the store and during that time she was requested by Verizon technicians to personally drive them to her home to inspect the faulty phone equipment. She finally asked them to disconnect their service. Verizon refused her request stating she needed a pin number (which she did not have). Mother then received a $107.57 bill for the equipment they refused to take back. They told her she had to take care of returning the equipment on her own. When she didn't receive a return label in the mail, she was then told she needed an email address. Since she does not have a computer, I (her daughter) provided her with my email address. They then told my mother they didn't want my email address. Today my mother asked a Riverton business man to accompany her to the Verizon store. He told them that no one should have to endure the stress brought on by Verizon's refusal to disconnect Mother's service and that the situation would have to be resolved immediately. Verizon took Mother's equipment and told her that her account would be credited. My Mother broke down in tears over the months of stress and wasted time trying to resolve this situation and she hopes no one has to go through this unprofessional treatment.
