I was renting a hot water tank from Enbridge, which recently moved all water tank business to its related company, Enercare. In early July 2024, I called Enercare and asked for a copy of my rental agreement because it seemed like I had been renting the item for a long time. The call took over one hour, including holding time. I was told the agreement would be sent to me. It was not. I called back to follow-up and I was told the agreement would be sent that same day and someone from Enercare would call me to discuss compensation for my troubles. The agreement was sent a day later and no one called me to discuss compensation. The agreement I was sent is a boiler-plate agreement, not my agreement with Enercare; there is no name, signature, or date. According to the email that accompanied the agreement, I started to rent the tank in April 2005. I pay $46.67/month. In other words, I have paid Enbridge/Enercare a total of $10,734.10 in rent. To purchase the tank new would cost approximately $2,500.00. Even if one were to take into account rental interest and the service benefits of renting, Enbridge/Enercare grossly overcharged me. I accept I am partially to blame for not having sooner caught on to what was happening. However, I am certain there are thousands of other customers who do not appreciate they are being gouged by Enbridge/Enercare.

I had a crossed meter situation where my gas meter was switched with someone else's. I ended up paying $1300 in 7 months, an absolutely ridiculous amount for a small apartment. After 3 months of calls, I finally got a credit but the credit only went back 6 months so I was missing credits for the first 4 months. I was continuously lied to by customer service as to why this was. I don't understand why people can't admit when then don't know something. I got in touch with a supervisor who somehow got me to agree to an additional $75 credit when after doing the math, I deserved close to an additional $300 credit. I feel lied to, scammed, and taken advantage of. This isn't how organizations should aim to solve the mistakes that THEY made in the first place. This is what happens when you have a monopoly in ******. We consumers have no where else to run to.

They charged too much without checking the actual reading . They never came to do maintenance of the gas meter. In the bill , we are paying for the in person visit if the technician but they dont take it out while sending the estimated bill.

I have recently signed up with an online account. I have found this. 22 months since my last "Actual" meter reading. 22 months of estimates. 22 months with a faulty/broken meter. Enbridge Gas has lied to me by saying my last actual reading was in August. My meter currently reads the same as it did in May 2021. My only gas use is a furnace/boiler to heat my baseboard radiator, which for obvious reasons, i use in winter (Nov-April). In September they estimated my gas use at 753m³ (roughly $500+). Bill was sent in August and then in December. Complaint was filed in Dec, Jan, & Feb. I have sent in my reading online 2x and verbally 2x. They told me that i told them a different number than the reading i gave them. Its now nearing the end of February and no resolution. After 2 months, they are finally replacing my meter. They also have once billed me for 998m³ and i still had a credit. Nothing is credible with this company.

Enbridge ******** (EGI) wrongly invoiced me for 450m3 of gas, for the period of 05 July 2022 to 03 Aug 2022 (a period of barely 3 Heating Degree Days). I was billed at the rate of 30.4607/m3, although the gas was actually delivered over much earlier periods when lower rates, ranging from 11.9698/m3 to 20.8153/m3, were in effect. The result of this wrongful billing is mischarging by EGI in contravention of ******************** (OEB) pricing dictates EGI profits from the gas delivered, which isnt permitted in ***** role as a conduit for delivery EGI is issuing fraudulent invoices Overcharging for natural gas by Enbridge ******* (EGI), affectsumpteen EGI customers across *******. Media reports over the past year have only noted the jump in prices, but nobody has noticed that EGI overcharges by misapplying the dates of gas delivery and charging 50% or more than the proper rates than dictated by the ******************** (OBE).

i asked for a stop payment 3 weeks ago (week of jan 23) assumed the women did her job and placed a stop payment. NOPE i had the payment removed feb13, 2023. when i called to see why this happened, knowing there would be an answer. i got call your bank to reverse payment, which i did and the bank teller shook her head because there was nothing really she could do because it would take 2-3 months to process the payment. i call every year dec-feb because of the estimate reading. i submit a reading every month so there should be no need for an estimate. i can only imagine the number of people who dont realize this with their bills and end up over paying all the time. i have numerous notes on my file with regards to not using the gas and my reading never changing. we cant turn it off because it is on a fire place we dont use and classed as a heat source. they are just a *************** and its very frustrating to get answers.

I have not received a billing from Enbridge since August, I have contacted them numerous times with the same response, because my gas meter was change in August and my bill will be sent asap. I am now heading into January and I have yet to see a bill since August. Honestly I have a hard time dealing with a company that has a D rating with the BBB and I am sure most people, having the choice wouldn't.

Absolutely atrocious customer service. I have never dealt with an organization so utterly incompetent. They screwed up my bill - assigned me a property I didn't own. Sent me two notices asking for payment.. I called to tell them this wasn't my property. They told me it would be resolved. (3 times!) Just received a notice from a collections agency asking for the money I owe to Enbridge pertaining to this account that is not mine. When I phoned to complain and have this removed from my record again they give me the run around and imply that I'm to blame for "not being persistent enough"... I'm sorry Enbridge - I trusted that you would have rectified YOUR mistakes when you said you would have. Unsure of where to go next... It is VERY clear to me why this is not an accredited business. They have a monopoly on the industry and provide pathetic customer service. I can't believe I'm forced to use them to heat my home.

First you charge my account when I already paid. Then I get charged an overdraft fee. Then you send me a cheque, that I have to put back on the account. Then you charge me a return fee.

I’ve just recently moved and prior to that I needed to reach out to all Utility company to inform them of my change of address. All went smoothly, except for Enbridge. They still have an address on file from over 3 years ago. I have asked them 3 times, using the so called e-agent to update my profile and nothing has been changed! I tried calling and left a message yet no response. I was on the phone with the other major utility and it took less than 10 minutes to update my account. I’m very frustrated! I have been at my new located for just over a week and I have no idea which house I’m paying gas for! I need some assistance as I’m sure I’m not the only consumer having issues with this company.
