    In may we hired this roofer to replace the roof on our house. We agreed that they would do this work on June 10th and 11th. On June 10th the showed up to drop material off, then we didn't see them for two days. I texted the owner who assured me he would be there the next day to finish the job. He wasn't. Nothing was done. I texted again confirming the work would be done by the Friday as rain was expected over the weekend. He assured me it would. Our roof was partly exposed now by the roofer, with some new shingles on, some old shingles still on, and some portions of the roof exposed. No work was completed by Friday as promised, and our roof was exposed during rain, with the roofer telling me that it was fine and wouldn't cause any problems (other roofers have now confirmed this was a lie). The next week he repeatedly told me he would be there each day, confirming on several days that he was on his way, and never showed up. Finally, 10 days after we had agreed work would be done, and 7 days with our roof exposed, we terminated the agreement and hired someone else. All told, we give $2500 in deposit to purchase supplies but had untold amount of damage done to our roof. Yes, I seek to get our deposit back, but more importantly I want to make sure others aren't caught in the same situation.
