      Charged me a 800$ deposit on my business account..history shows my bills are between 50-60$/month. I have decent credit but b/c the business doesn't have credit, they have to charge. About 6 months later, I decided to switch to a new company that is much cheaper. Says they have 6 weeks from day of the switch to send my deposit back to me. We're now going on week 7. Takes hours to get to talk to customer service. If I didn't have to deal w them, I wouldn't.

      Coming is a piece of work in the dark ages not being able to refund money when you over pay ! Well have to write a check and send it to you within 14 days. Horrible customer service they argue with their customers. They have the always right attitude. They have no empathy for the customers. Dont sign up for auto withdrawal its a scam they will charge double and hope you wont see it. They charged me double and said I had to wait 14days to get my money back by check. To make things even worse they wont refund money right away and if you have any other bills due or rent for that matter its another late fee cause of them. Worst company bunch of leechs at this company. I hope they go bankrupt and die

      **************** Absolutely horrible to deal with. Was a loyal customer for 16 years. Never again! They scam customers as much as they can. 1) Meters aren't read when they're supposed to be (even though they claim they do), 2) customer service takes 2 hours+ to reach. They do not have a customer service department at their downtown headquarters. 3) They claim they send out "letters and notices" which either don't reach the household or arrives several weeks after the date they mail it out. No warnings or notifications go out regarding unregulated rate changes. 4) They claim they attempt to call you on your phone, yet when you go through your call log there is never any Epcor affiliated numbers listed. 5) They charge exorbitant deposits. When you do have a deposit with Epcor, that deposit doesn't transfer over to their *************** (same company but operates separately apparently) as they ask for another deposit. 6) Yes, they will send out emails with amounts due and due dates, but will not let you know electronically about disconnection dates, or connection dates all as a means to charge more for Fortis energization fees. 7) for sites that need energization, they schedule it for over a weeks worth of time, but offer you immediate energization if you pay them an emergency fee (extortion in many cases). 8) since they have the monopoly on the northern Alberta market from the time of pre-privatization, they do not care about any one's circumstances, whether you're a recent immigrant without any credit history, a person who has lost a job, or even if their mail did not reach you. Epcor is strictly about s******* over as many people as possible for as much money as possible.

      Most scam like companies we deal with, never take actual readings just estimate which they ripped you off. ***** extra added fees, outrages high rates, horrible service very hard to get through to anyone. Not sure how this is even all legal ???????

      Epcor is part of the a huge scam to take extra money from people who already have a hard time paying their bills. I was put on a limiter because I hadn't paid my bill on time even though I hadn't been given notice, and obviously because I was short on money due to all of the ridiculous extra fees they charge. And they charged me ANOTHER $52 to take it off of the limiter, despite that it takes nothing but the flick of a switch for them to do so. They make up some excuse about having to 'do a test' in order to take the limiter off, which is not at all true. OBVIOUSLY the power still works coming to my home or I wouldn't currently have power with the limiter, but they make this excuse, making it EVEN harder for me to pay my $550/month power and water bill. I'm ONE PERSON, I have LED lights, newer appliances and barely use any power or water. This is RIDICULOUS that I'm being charged this much every month for 'delivery fees'. What a complete scam. EPCOR, making life harder, one customer at a time.

      Epcor is by far the most thieving utilities company I have ever had the displeasure of having to deal with, anywhere in the country. I live in a very small home with new windows, led lighting and power saving EVERYTHING. I somehow amass over $700 in charges every single month for water, sewer, garbage and power. It is utterly ridiculous. They shut off power to my home this past summer over $100. Because they are "so busy", it took over a week in +33 heat to return power to my home, and they did not care that there were children and animals in the home. We also lost hundreds of dollars in food from the fridge and freezer being off for so long. I bleed money to these people every month, and every month they threaten me with shut off. I had one CSR try to tell me that they aren't the reason for the prices, the government is. When I asked her if she knew she was lying or if that's just what epcor tells them and she believed it, she became quite offended and hung up on me. It is pretty ridiculous when your power bill is as much as your rent, and double the rest of your utilities put together, while living in an energy efficient home. Epcor has the monopoly here in AB, and they manipulate it to the **** They should be removed from this province, and be forced to give back the millions of dollars they are stealing from people. They are sickening.

      Apart from having a poor customer service, ********************** is also a cash grab. I paid my bill before due date and still I was charged $25 for the rejected automatic withdrawal. They do not even correct this flaw in their billing system. They only want money and deliver poor service.

      Epcor is totally unreliable when it comes to service. Do not believe anything they tell you. A power upgrade at my residence which should have taken a few days took about 5 months. I was constantly given promises that were never kept! If you ever have the misfortune to have to deal with Epcor keep meticulous records. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with any company.

      They dont care about people. Their rates are ridiculously high.. *** never paid so much for gas and power in the month and a bit I was with them in error. How does the government allow this? The wait time to speak to a CSR to make payment arrangements its absurd and the payment arrangements a joke.

      joke of a company, they dont even deserve a star, only reason they have one star from me is i had to select at least one to post the review. steer clear if you want any notice about services being cut off.
