Rifco had sent a sheriff’s bailiff to repos my truck oct 23rd, contacted them to make arrangements to send payment needed to get truck back, sent them the full payment of 3886.08 via wire transfer on nov 1st, they refused to release my truck to me after showing proof it was credited into their account. Days went by fighting with them and they refusing to release my truck back to me. I had to send another 3886.08 via etransfer Nov 4th with recorded agreement that they would refund the first payment. Well as of today Dec 9th they refuse to answer my calls and or tell me a manager will contact me but they never do. Would really like to know if there is anything you guys can do to help, that money hasn’t even been applied to principal of loan

We understand that going through the repossession process can be a frustrating and confusing process at times. While we make every effort to assist our customers through this process, there can be some difficulties when understanding what is required and why. When payments are made on accounts they will first be applied to any outstanding payments, then to any outstanding fees on the account (bailiff fees, NSF etc) and then any overages will be applied to the principal balance. For me to resolve the complaint, I will need to speak with the customer to confirm some details for a quick refund of any overages. In order expedite the process going forward the customer can reach out to the Manager of Collections at ***************** or by calling ************ **** ****.

My mother ********* ******** applied for an auto loan with RIFCO in 2018 and used my name as a contact only. She defaulted in her loan and it was at that time she realized they had added me as a co borrower. My mother contacted them via email (still have record of emails) and notified them of this error. As I had not been listed as a co borrower or had even given them any of my information. My name on her application for the loan only had my name listed as a contact. She still has the original loan documents
This company was to have this error fixed with ******* ****** in November of 2019 as per emails from RIFCO
However today August 2, 2022 I went to meet with my bank to discuss a line of credit and was declined as this is still showing on my credit report. At no point did I give this or any other company permission to add my name to any loan documents of any kind. I am hoping you can assist me in getting my credit information corrected.
Having my name added to a loan without my consent should be considered illegal?

We submitted an update to ********** and ******* to suppress the trade lines in November 2019. Since we do not receive any notification from the 3rd party credit bureaus regarding the status of our request, we requested a follow-up in approximately six weeks.

A new update has been submitted today, 8/3/2022. If the credit bureau still does not reflect the suppression of the trade lines, please follow up with Rifco by 9/21/2022.

In the case that a letter is required to support that no trade lines have been established with Rifco previously or currently. Our team will assist you.
