      These guys are a joke and rude to me on the phone I been putting money and they charge me a extra 25.00 not telling me the reasons and never returning my calls making me pay for my suv on top of the one I got from that neverlet me pick pretty much forced me to get into something I never wanted im pretty sad and disappointed there a joke never again will I get jewed into garage

      This device is a large contributor of distracted driving and is far more dangerous then using a cell phone, i have missed numerous road test as driving with the window down very difficult to hear, and continuous monitoring during driving is required, it is terrible location in my vehicle, is total unsafe, and cord is always getting caught on shifte.

      This whole business is terrible. I paid a 250$ deposit and was told I would get a refund after a year. it was not an instant refund like the guy made it seem. the email said 4-6 weeks from the day i sent in my information. they told me on the phone that it would ***********-8 weeks after a 10 day processing. I had given them my update address multiple times and they STILL supposedly, allegedly sent my check to the wrong address... Not only that I tried to contact them and ask for a better way of getting my refund and not one email reply or call back....

      The complaints come from the way the company is run and what you have to deal with. The program is set to keep you from consuming alcohol and not being able to drive your vehicle and there is no problem with this. I do not part take in the consumption of alcohol anymore and knew I was not going to have any problems with any of the readings. When I first installed the device, I had to pay a lot of money to travel to the nearest location to get it installed. When I first did my interview a lady was nice and I got everything taken care of to get it installed. One question she did ask was do you want the feature smart Idle. I just said sure if it's free then I will take it. I found out that it was not free. I asked on my first calibration if I could take it off and he told me that I would have to call it in and get it taken off. So when I got home I called in and said okay we will take it off. Fast forward to the second calibration and it was still on there and the technician that was doing the calibration said he could not take it off and had to call it in. I did this at every calibration and every time I had to keep paying for something I did not want. I moved the device from one vehicle to another and started using the new vehicle. There was an incident that came up on the device a day after it was moved and I had to pay 60 for it. It wasn't a positive or anything like that and they told me they would look into it and get back to me. When I went to uninstall my device, they told me that because of the date from 3 days before I had to do the installation I owed them another month including the feature that I didn't want. what got me was that they didn't log anything and told me I had to call in and create a note for what I was talking about. I did this all the way through. They told me at the uninstall I would be reimbursed, I called in and they just told me no. Crooks, and because the **** and the ******** government support this, it makes them the same way.

      Smart Start Canada is the worst kind of company!!!!!! They will take a dollar everywhere they can. I HAVE NOT EVEN BEEN TRIALED YET. AND I HAVE TO PAY 50$/8H EXTRA TO THEM TO GET MY VEHICLE FIXED, in addition of the monthly rate. The garage dont want to blow and i cant be there all day. The phone line has the longest pre recorded message just to be sure you wait extra long and waste even more time/money. THEY ARE NOT THERE TO HELP.

      Absolute Thieves. The ignition interlock device gives false positives. I had a banana for the morning and this device locked me out of my car for 4 hours. So im not supposed to eat anything.I called the smart start rep and advised of the situation. Now I have to go pay further expenses $85 (will probably come up to $100 to get back in my car). Smart start is an evil company looking to pray on those that are trying to bounce back on life. God will come for them.

      I was in a car accident that was not my fault and my front end was completely smashed. This accident happened on Sept 28, 2023. I contacted SMART START immediately after the accident and was told once I have the police report to submit to Smart Start. On Sunday Oct 1, I had the self reporting collision report, my insurance policy, and photos of my vehicle and proceeded to make an accident report through Smart Start client portal for the claims manager to complete my claim. I completed all the information however the portal accident/broken down vehicle portal wouldn't let me attach my documents, it kept giving me an error! After many attempts I called Smart Start. The smart start employee told me I would need to go through Request a Refund portal as there was a glitch with the attachment 2mb file size. So we completed the claim with the person on the phone and I got everything submitted. I got another car and on Nov 8 had an appointment to get a breathalyzer put in the car and was told I'm being charged for 2 missed calibrations and a new breathalyzer. The 2 missed calibration charges was because I didn't do a report for the claims manager to review, which is completely false! I have proof that this was done Oct 1, 2023. As for the breathalyzer they want to charge me over $3,000.00. I was told by Smart Start that I'm not allowed to take the breathalyzer out of my crashed vehicle or I will be charged with tampering! I think I'm going to be getting a Lawyer and take Smart Start to court! PLEASE BE WARE OF SMART START, they will **** you dry. Ive had many other issues with Smart Start ! I will do another review with a breakdown !

      Do not use this company! They said I canceled an appointment! I have the email verification they canceled on me! I worked hard to get sober! I own my mistakes. But they are a disgraceful business! I went from paying 100 a month to owing 700 because of 2 missed appointments. And lockout codes! I cant even get to work. Do not use this company!

      I have had this device for 11 months and have not had one month go by without an issue and having to pay each time. From dead batteries to sealing out cords and headsets countless times. Having to mias work constantly to go to the shop and get the issues looked at. Headsets get no power they blame your car. I have had random violation locks, which I have to pay a lock code and reset fees. Its a garbage system they need to improve!!!

      Smart start is a Denver to drivers the operator and other drivers very unsafe also had to go back 3 times before I had my first appointment the worker was not in when I got there 3 times I paid gas to get there and never got the van in for the first month appointment until I was 4 months into my 6 month program and at the end they over charged me I was supposed to have a $28 credit and the guy at 100 mile house charged me $28 instead of the credit I never have received my credit back from the smart start yet the interlocking system was always coming apart at the wire and made me almost go off the road thinking my van was going to stall when the cord unplugged. The first time the cord came unconnected I thought I was stuck miles away from home with no money to fix it or get van towed I was lucky to finally get it taped back together after a night of sleeping in my van in a city parking lot the whole experience was very messed up and I feel that it does not solve any problems at all it makes them worse.
