On August 8th, I took my cell phone to Telze in St. Albert in *** ****** ******** *******  My screen was cracked. They replaced it. When I got out to my car, I tested it out and discovered that when you tapped the screen, it did not work. I figured it may have been because the battery was very low, so I took it home and charged it up. After charging it , it still did not work, and I discovered that there was a very fine crack that originated from a small chip underneath the cover.

When I called them they refused to fix it and told me that I had cracked the phone and that there is no way that they could reimburse me or fix this problem.

I then proceeded to try to locate the owner and no one would give me this information. I tried what I thought was their head office in Ontario, another kiosk at ******** **** in Edmonton and finally tracked down the owner through the name and address on my receipt. My husband called the number and got the owner who told him he would talk to the manager where I had the phone repaired, then get back to me. We have not heard back from them.

In the meantime, as I have a business that relies on my phone, I took it to anther place and had a new screen put on.

This repair person told me that the screen that Telze put on my phone was an aftermarket product worth about $30 and was known to be "insensitive" to touch and when looking at the screen I could see that there was a wide margin around the edges that was not connected to the workings of the device. Also, the screen is noticeably thicker than a proper ******* ****** ** screen. The repair shop owner has stated this in writing. She was quite astounded that they charged me $160 for a $30 screen.

The sale of a cell phone screen that is not of even standard value and charging so much, then refusing to make good on the problem is very unethical.

    Thanks. ******
