      Misleading sale & unsanitary used product: DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS STORE!We purchased a mattress from Sleep Shop Richmond after visiting in person and being explicitly assured it was new - just discounted due to lack of warranty.What we received was visibly used, soiled with large yellow/red-brown stains, torn, and clearly unsanitary - with absolutely no disclosure of prior use or damage.When we saw the delivery truck still on our street and called to have the mattress returned immediately, the delivery team refused, stating their boss, ****** *****, had told them not to come back. Farouq later denied giving that direction, claiming he never spoke to the drivers. ****** ***** initially told us it was a company error that we received this mattress and admitted it was a used, damaged, and soiled return - but when asked where the mattress we had actually purchased was, if this wasnt it, he eventually acknowledged that this was in fact the mattress they had advertised and sold to us under false pretenses.The dirty used mattress remains in our home.This was a deeply disappointing and unsafe experience, and a clear breach of consumer trust, health standards, and basic business ethics.I have submitted a formal complaint to the ****************** and intend to file additional reports with Consumer Protection BC, given this companys pattern of advertising used and returned mattresses as new on online platforms like ******** Marketplace - inducing purchases under false pretenses and profiting through deceptive sales.This store cannot be trusted. You are better off shopping anywhere else.

      Thank you for your feedback. Were very sorry for the experience you had and fully acknowledge that mistakes were made in both the condition of the mattress delivered and in our communication with you.

      While the item was sold as a clearance mattress without warranty, it should have been properly inspected and clearly represented.

      Due to our errors and the confusion that followed, we will be sending you a brand new mattress.


      We take this matter seriously and are reviewing our internal processes to ensure this does not happen again.

      I had a disappointing experience with Sleep Shop. After purchasing a mattress, I noticed it was producing lint and dust. I contacted the company, and they sent a staff member to inspect it, but they dismissed my concerns, claiming the issue was from elsewhere. Unfortunately, they have since ignored my emails, showing poor customer service.I expected better quality and responsiveness from a company selling essential products.

At **********************, we take customer concerns seriously and strive to address them in a timely and thorough ********* per our records, we exchanged your mattress and inspected your concerns regarding excessive lint during our visit on July 5, 2024. After which, you reached out again about the lint and to ensure we properly assessed the issue, we made a dedicated second visit on January 7, 2025, and confirmed that the foundation materialsfabric and solid woodwould not typically produce a substantive amount of lint, especially within an 8-month timeframe. Our team took the base off of your frame, looked at the construction, there were no defects found and deemed that the product was in good order.Additionally, we attempted to schedule a second house call to further investigate after another request you made, but unfortunately, we did not receive confirmation from you. Regarding product quality, we have sold this type of foundation for decades and have not previously received similar concerns.We regret that your experience did not meet your expectations and encourage you to reach out if you have any further questions or if we can assist you in any way.
