We had ***** of Brighton Home Inspection complete a pre-purchase home inspection for us July 2024.He quoted us 3-4 hours for the house based on its size however he was there for less than half the time.He wouldnt take questions until the end and wasnt approachable while he was inspecting so we have no clue what he actually inspected/ did not inspect until the written report as the post inspection debrief was extremely rushed and only provided highlights of the inspection. During the debrief we ourselves pointed out defects which the inspector had not noticed and when we asked questions or made comments ***** seemed dismissive or irritated. We felt that the service provided had a clear lack of detail, use of tools, thoroughness to the inspection which appears be directly connected to the fact the inspection of a house this size was conducted in less than 90 minutes. The post inspection report was clearly computer generated and although did include pictures and comments it was dissatisfying to see how much was not inspected. There was also inaccurate reporting, stating we had a heat pump when we did not.Upon possession of the house we discovered many issues that were either reported as not inspected or not mentioned in the report which is doubly disappointing, one because we lost the opportunity to negotiate the defect into the sale contract and two because we have no record of whether the defect was present during inspection or not. We have now paid thousands out of pocket to address defects upon possession that should have been identified during the inspection. While we werent thrilled with the inspection experience, it has become more of a critical dissatisfaction now that there are mounting issues with the product of the inspection. We have written to ***** with our concerns one week ago and have not heard back at all. I have attached the email to this complaint and the email itemizes the issues from the inspection.
