So this Year I had to buy a second Policy for my another property and the lender wanted to add the policy on both my property .I had several conversations with ******* and explained in details as to what I wanted done . The situation with ******* started when I had done monthly payments for my second Policy I filled out the bank detailed form and the payment came out from my checking account on the same day which was fine .******* very poor customer service - I needed to pay the difference on my first policy , she did not ask or tell me the amount needed or how I wanted to pay she assumed her self and applied the funds from my from the savings account . I only have checking account. This is what I do not understand how can Square one apply for the funds from my checking account on second policy and then turn around at the same time apply funds from savings account for the first policy. I certainly was not aware till the bank came to me and said the funds denied from savings account . I reached out to Square one and ****** answered the phone so I explained to her the details and she said that I applied the funds from savings account and argued with me and reading from some sort of chit sheet . The bank pulled the details for me and told me that Square one applied the payment from their system and the told ****** this but she kept on arguing with me . I told her that ******* was the one with poor CS and did not explain to me what she was doing on my policies and payments. I requested to ****** that Square one should reimburse me the $20 since it was their system that used checking for second policy payment and then turn around and use savings account for the first policy payment on the same day it did not make sence. This girl ****** is very ********** and said she will do no such thing very poor CS on her part. I told her I will not be renewing my policy with square one going forward. I will be talking to my friends and family and telling them my experince.Square One Insurance Services

The online application was quick and easy. I first tried TD and Cooperators process online, but after wasting my time, their sites both said I need to have a phone call with a sales agent. I think its just a process they use to upsell people.I then searched online and checked out Square One with the Better Business Bureau.Mine was a fairly simple Tenants policy, something that I finally decided to stop procrastinating about getting!As I watched an apartment fire across the road, and the unbelievable damage done to the attached units by water and smoke, I completed the application and payment arrangements.I received my policy in my email before the fire trucks left!Square One Insurance Services

Thay approved my residential insurance online, took my **** payment, confirmed that I was insured. (Includes a $ no refundable fee) Great! All done....NO Then was told to send pictures of exterior. I was unable to do so. It was suggested I use a neighbour or friend to do it for me....so much for antonomy! I was told, most people....blah blah blah So, they are cancelling my home insurance. I suggested in order for a person to make an informed choice about purchasing insurance through Square One that they lay out everything they need before taking consumers money! There is no penalty to cancel in this situation and, after reviewing your file, I'm pleased to confirm no penalty was applied. I'd like to provide further context as to why photos are requested. Part of our quality control process includes reviewing policies using online tools, such as ****** Street View. When photos of the home are unavailable, outdated, or low-resolution, we ask customers to take and submit photos using our online tool. Hello, thanks for the apology, however, clearly I have not made myself understood, given your response. I am not writing about a cancellation fee, or a penalty...although you state that you are pleased to see one was not applied. HUH? I am considering a penalty against your company. This is about process. Glad you find my situation a coaching opportunity. I see it quite differently. I understand about photos etc...if you need photos of a property. My concern is, is that at no point prior to taking my payment was I informed that I MAY need to provide photos from my side. Had I been informed of this, at that point, I would have discontinued the application process. But, you didn't. It is not my responsibility if you rely on ****** Street View? At least that gives a customer an opportunity to make an informed decision, which is what I would have done had you told me that you were not able to get photos from your side. Simple. But, you didn't. It is not my responsibility if you rely on ****** Street View? Do your homework. In the eagerness to sign me up and take my payment you assumed that pictures through your online tool, would be forthcoming. You were wrong, apparently. NOT my fault.Part of your Quality Control should be to ensure you have EVERYTHING you need from a persons application in order to either approve or deny their application.Because of your sloppy practices, I now have 1 month of insurance from you guys ending June 17, which creates all sorts of financial repercussions that I have to deal with, including MY credit rating. Terrible insurance company. We've been with them about a year, and filed a claim for our roof. First, we had a roofing company take a look and give us an estimate at the end of March 2023. They told ** we should be contacting our insurance company because there was clear hail damage and they had no doubt it would be covered. We submitted a claim.It took a month and a half for Square One to take a look - after numerous requests and calls. When they did come, they looked from the ground only. It then took another 2 weeks to get an answer - following multiple more phone calls. We were told our claim had been approved, but they needed to get an estimate from their approved provider. Two weeks later, more phone calls, we called the provider ourselves to find out they had been here - oh, and they weren't a roofing company but a disaster restoration company? Finally, we got the OK to go with the company we had initially received a quote from (way back in March). But now we're being told that despite being told we were approved, now the story is that we're only approved for eavestroughing and the chimney - not shingles? (Don't ask me how every part of the roof but the shingles can have hail damage.) Meanwhile, they've sent us a letter raising our rates.Just a miserable company to deal with, unless you like to pay for your own stress and headaches.Square One Insurance Services

All insurance policies are subject to terms, conditions, and exclusions as laid out in your policy wordings booklet. While damages caused to your roof by an insured peril would be covered by your policy (you mentioned the hail damage), pre-existing damage or damage caused by a different event may not be covered. In such cases, it can take some time to ascertain the source of all damage and determine coverage. And concerning the timeline, we apologize for any delays. I lost my credit card, *************** to change the credit card on file, they took the new credit card infomation, and i left it at that. My Feb payment I relised did not get paid when I log into my onlinebanking Feb. 28. - Call them right away to find out that my insurance was cancelled Feb 27, and the letter was not even printed to go out yet. When i spoke to the first rep, of course he sadi there was nothing he could do, and that emails were sent, when i advices no email, and no phone calls were recieved, he advised me that there was a glich in the system, and there is nthing they can do for me. my premium now would nearly double. Spoke to a mamanager and he told me that is all square one underwrighting, and there is nothing they could do even tho i was calling in the *** of there cancellation,. Not days not weeks later, the day of. AND that was all on my watching my accounts as if i never looked into why the $ was still in my account, i wouldnt of known they cancelled my insurance. We have been with them for 4 years, no issues you would think they would provice their clents with a phone call before cancelling, as we can not rely on electronic means 24/7 it does glich and in this case this glich has cost me, the little person that they clearly do not care about.would not recoment unless you montior your accounts daily, as if gliches happen, they don't take any responsibility, Even when the client calls in to see whats going on the day of, cancelation willing and trying to pay.Square One Insurance Services

Before cancelling a policy for nonpayment, we send a series of emails over multiple days warning the policyholder that their policy will be cancelled if payment issues are not resolved. I can confirm we did so in this case as well. If we do not receive updated payment information before the cancellation date, we have no choice but to proceed with cancellation per the policy terms. I had a condo insurance with square one , they denied my claim for no reason. The claim adjuster could not provide adequate reason for denying my claim . it is awful feeling to pay the insurance premium and when u need in terms of claim they just raise their hands, I am thinking to *** them in court for thisSquare One Insurance Services

To be very honest the explanation provided by square one is not fair and breach the customer rights to claim.we pay premium to cover ourselves,but hard reality is that square one doesn't desire to honor the claims.
