      Vancity is one of the only financial institutions that gave me nothing but problems, issues with posting on credit card accounts and even bank deposits. I ended up closing my accounts. After nilling out my membership shares on my corporate bank account and asking them close it, I am still getting mail of my membership shares statement with 0 balance. They have not managed to stop the mailing, so I end up redirecting it back to them. It does not cost me anything, but I am sure they are spending customer dollars on mailing statements to customers that no longer exit. This is poor business practices, and I think someone should audit them.

      They've ************** their service and made so mistakes on my mortgage resulting in thousands of dollars out of pocket and terrible customer service not willing to work with me on a resolution.

      Im closing my account as I write this. They seem to think that my money is theres. Its non of your business why I would like to withdrawal MY money. Always a big line up. Poor customer service. Hours of operation **** with regards to calling customer support. 8pm is too early

      I have had accounts at Vancity for years but I don't know what is happening with their online service that is taking away my peace of mind, especially with credit cards where their system is making many errors when it comes to reflecting the consumption made with credit cards, apart from online messages in **** Vancity don't even answer them anymore. I don't know if I would have to go to another bank where I could possibly receive better treatment by paying.

      I struggle with Vancity... I think they charge fees for things they shouldn't, but they're far better than ***** ******* who I switched to out of spite after turning 25 (Vancity has free accounts for those under 25). If you're choosing between those two, choose Vancity. I am here leaving this review because I'm struggling with their **** department, I had an old card ******* and only found out when collections called, I immediately called Vancity, paid the ********** charges, and closed the account. I wasn't worried about paying the extra (should have been checking my statements oops) and the only thing I asked the very nice woman on the other side of the phone was if this would affect my credit, she said no. Fast forward a month, I get a call from collections. I call Vancity and it turns out the account was never closed. Called their visa department, had to argue my case even though they have a recorded phone call a month earlier, they finally say they'll send me a cheque for the new charges. I once again said I didn't really care about that and only cared about my credit. I go to try to get a loan and my credit is A HUNDRED AND FIFTY POINTS lower than it should be. I've never had any debt issues in my life. I call Vancity, they give me the run around and tell me to email their visa department. I do, and am assured it will be wiped in 45-60 days-- guess I'm left to fend for myself until then. 70 days later, the dings are still on my credit report, I reach out and get the response they'll wipe my "my missed payments and late payments" within 60 business days (I emailed around 55 business days). They were NOT missed or late payments, it happened because YOUR EMPLOYEE didn't actually close the account when she said she had! No shade on her but own up to your errors! So close to ripping my hair out, but other than writing here what else can I do... their tellers are very kind, but this bureaucracy and lack of accountability has me climbing the walls.

      Im very disappointed with Vancity. They had a promotion that if you put money into your account until end of June, you would get a higher promotional rate. Vancity has decided to stop the promotional rate 6 weeks early. They clearly do not care about their customers.

      Website states open branch that has not even opened yet..why do this to people..especially when time / traffic are always pertinent in one's day...to go all the way to a fictitious location ...find parking..walk to branch described as open for business for about 12 more minutes in that afternoon...only to discover they are going to exist in the future at some point..what a painful bloody mess you have left me in..going to "***********"..news channels..***..etc..***** ***

      I have been a member at Vancity for 20+ years, and I do all my banking through them. I have 3 mortgages with them as well. I received a letter regarding rising interest rates, so I wanted to speak with someone in the mortgage department. I called the Call Centre, and I was given a phone appointment this morning. The young man I spoke to was very pleasant, however he gave me incorrect information regarding my mortgages. Fortunately, I was able to speak to my mortgage advisor who answered all my questions. I do appreciate Vancity's customer service and commitment to community building, however I am perplexed that when I call to request mortgage advise I receive a call from a Wealth Relationship Manager who knows nothing about Vancity mortgages and provided me with incorrect information. Please direct our calls/appointments to the departments that can actually help us!

      If you are considering any services with this credit union please consider anyone else. I have accounts at two other credit unions and they are generally quite good ** ********* ***** ******** * ***** **** * *** ***** ** *** ***** **** *** **** **** * ******** Once VanCity gets you as a client you are treated horribly. By bad I mean they yell at you over the phone over nothing, seriously nothing, I wasn’t even upset about anything going into the call. I said “oh” instead of “zero” for my postal code… isn’t that normal though? When you say the time do you say “six zero nine”? If your unit number is 1806 (mine is not) most people I know would say “eighteen oh six”. I get that I should have said zero but it’s common. This resulted in the weirdest reaction, over the top, nonsensical abuse. *** ******* ** ***** ******* **** **** **** *** Now I have to go into a branch to prove my identity, ya not going to.
      BBB, please make a zero option!

      I have been with Vancity for a few years now. In the beginning it was great but now I have had nothing but issues. I had a problem with suspicious activity . I called them to inform them and they stated that there was nothing that they could do. After informing them that I was calling the *** and the media they said that they had fixed it. Jump forward to 2 days later and the issue happened again. I again called them to be told that it would be fixed by the end of the day. Again it didn't happen. Now I am $700 less in my account with no answers. * ** ****** ** ***** ****** ***** ******* ** **** ***** *** ** ********* How *** ***** am I able to do that when my own bank is working against me. ***** ** *** ********
