I have purchased travel insurance for the last 10 years ,we are spending6 months a year in mexico. This year I had a medical emergency and needed doctor visits and hospital stay.since you have to file a claim within 90 days and they only accept original receipts I had to send it by ups at a cost of approximately 200 dollars (mailservice doesn't work in mexico) After 2 months I inquired about my claim and they told me my claim was processed and denied and they send a letter to my home address. Nobody let me know by email and they know exactly that I'm not home for another 6 weeks When I got home the letter said that they need health history from attending physician. By now it's 4 months and mexico is not very good at keeping records and are not very computerized and I'm sure they are not willing to send the info by ups at 200 dollars (since blue cross only acceps original documents ) They make it so complicated and communication is terrible

Can somebody please explain why it takes PBC so long to refund 'ostomy bags' - why they need additional scrutiny. They are 'ostomy bags', you can pack a lunch in them.

Was just on the phone asking when I could expect payment on a filled prescription that was submitted on January 15, ****. I was told that it is pending and that it could take up to 30 business days to be paid out. That is 6 weeks.I am retired and on a fixed income and in all intents that would mean I would have to pay the full amount again while they are still figuring out the first one as my medication is given to me every month. That is absolutely ridiculous.I have been on the same medication for 2 years now and never needed to wait 6 weeks before. The customer service rep informed me that it was because they are short-staffed. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told they don't deal with complaints. PBC need to give their head a shake. To wait 6 weeks for my prescription to be approved is totally unacceptable.

Well, extremely frustrating, unbelievable, and for being a Health Benefits provider shocking, I have off and on been a Blue Cross benefits subscriber for years, so naturally when my group plan situation changed , I went with Blue Cross. I am a health and safety practitioner and know much about what's really affecting workers out there and I try to lead by example, I'm in great health , no disabling injuries or anything I really need to be concerned about. I have been lucky. I know ********** is really stressing focus on and education about preventative strategies concerning Muscle Skeletal type injuries, the massive impact it has had on the industry etc. So I personally learning about this , being aware , specifically aware of my own body. I have regularly subscribed to regular Chiro and massage even acupuncture visits. I do find that it keeps me stretched, loose and because of this I can say I have walked away from things that might have disabled another. It has been tough when an employer does not provide benefits, so a benefits provider is important to regular health. So today when I called to ask why my Blue Cross bill from a Chiro visit was not covered. They get quite technical about various under writings , this and that and preexisting injuries etc. If. Anyone has worked at anything lived life, there will be tweeks and sore spots etc. to say the least , go to massage or chiro etc it gets the rub and bang back in comfortable business, however now it seems worker / human care is not in the business model for Blue cross, or maybe health benefit providers . when I was shocked about this and announced my displeasure politely with the service rep with Blue Cross, ( meaning never cursing or swearing etc but slightly elevated so they got my point and should be questioning what they are actually doing) I was purposely multiple times transferred to departments that the present services representative stated had nothing to do with them.. This is just wrong

This company pushes an agenda that I don't agree with, but that notwithstanding we were enrolled without any contact and cancelled as soon as we were made aware that they'd enrolled us to a policy we did not want or need.So then you have to spend time on the phone with them " time = money " as the old saying goes. Do not engage with this company over the web, do not that's a warning that you should heed.

I hesitate to give even one star to Pacific Blue Cross. What modern age health insurance company does not cover basic life saving medication and aids for **** * ********? When I retired from the workforce I trusted that my needs would be met by joining their plan. After two months of submitting medication claims I have received zero compensation from them. I spoke to their representative to resolve the situation and got no answers whatsoever - the agent was not helpful. As soon as I am eligible I will cancel my contract. It was a waste of my time and money. I felt like I was duped.

Terrible company. I repatriated to *** in April and Pacific Blue Cross became my insurer. In this time I have been refused coverage for my 2 most important medications even after my Doctor filled out and returned the form for one of them, the other I am now waiting to receive back a form from Pharmacare. I was also told by their agent on the phone if I pay full amount now for the medication I will not receive any type of refund if the Pharmacare letter is dated after today when I had to pick up and pay for the medication. I truly do regret the change in insurance even though my old insurance was sadly lacking also they were not this bad and covered both my medications.

Pacific Blue Cross simply is not there for their customers and are incapable of handling the simplest transaction with no regard to the outcome for the customer. I authorized automatic withdrawal from my bank account for my dental and extended health payments that I pay for myself. After my home was broken into in January/22, I closed my old bank account and opened a new one. I notified all parties affected by this change including Blue Cross. In fact, I provided my new banking information to them four times and made numerous phone calls because they kept trying to take the money out of my old account. Unbeknown to me, the bank was manually redirecting their withdrawals to my new account and they were getting paid. But, of course, the bank got tired of this and notified me. Again, I call Blue Cross. I'm assured they have my new banking information and that they will remove my old account number from their records. But, I have a bill, I pay the bill. They sent me an apology letter and assure me the matter has been corrected. Last week, I go to pick up my prescriptions and I have no coverage. They haven't been withdrawing payments. And I now owe over $900! I ask to speak to a manager to arrange payments. I'm assured twice I'll get a call. I haven't. I can't afford to pay the $400 plus for my prescriptions so they sit at the pharmacy. In a few days, I'll have run out of medication. I don't know what I'll do. What good is a plan that doesn't deliver?
