Dishwasher malfunctions have resulted in damage to my kitchen floor. Despite multiple repairs, the same issue continues to arise. Previously, I have incurred financial losses due to the damage caused by these leaks, and now the ongoing problem has necessitated further repairs to my flooring. I have contacted the store to request a refund or exchange, but my requests have been repeatedly denied on the grounds that the appliance can be "repaired." During the last service visit, the technician advised me to "call us when it leaks again," suggesting that they possess knowledge about this appliance that I do not.
This recurring issue has been present since the date of purchase, and I hold an extended warranty for the dishwasher. Over the past few years, the appliance has functioned effectively only about 50% of the time, as the necessary parts often take weeks to arrive, and when they are finally installed, the appliance tends to leak once more.
Unfortunately i have been left no choice to contact the BBB (which according to the customer service rep at the ****** ***** location "will not not get me very far") in hopes the business will do the right thing before legal action is taken. As you will see in the pictures attached the damages have now caused flooring to start separating and lifting, if no refund is given i will seek action to get this covered as well.Business Response

I checked with our Customer Service Manager and was advised that a tech from B******* ********* ****** checked the dishwasher on Friday, January 3rd and there was no fault found with the appliance.
I viewed the pictures attached. Our warranty only covers defective components in the dishwasher and not collateral damage caused by water damage.

I am rejecting this response because: I want to clarify that my complaint is not about the current situation. I am experiencing persistent problems with this dishwasher that are damaging my home. The water valve has been replaced two to three times, yet the issue remains unresolved. I am requesting a refund for this purchase or a replacement dishwasher that won't cause further damage to my property.
The technician came to address a different problem with the dishwasher's drainage. After pressing a couple buttons, they concluded that it was draining properly. It seems these technicians are not putting in much effort during diagnostics and are more focused on finishing quickly. As mentioned, this is a different issue from the one I reported to the BBB.Initial Complaint

We purchased a ********* washer and dryer combo in November of 2022. The washer stopped working approx 1 month ago. 2 weeks ago we reached out to Cohens to look to see if we still had warranty because we thought it had expired.
It turned out that we had paid
214 dollars for extra warranty from the store itself. When asked if they would replace it since we have an infant at home and have no use of our washer and NEED use of the washer… they replied that they would send a service tech to look at the washer because their policy is to try and repair first before replacing. the service tech came the next day and took a look. Said a wire had came loose from the bottom and a part was broken as is quite common for these types of washers. He was going to order a part but in the meantime we could still use the washer since he had it temporally “fixed” we had tried that evening to wash clothes and it did not progress through the cycles properly and did not wash the clothes properly at all and kept filling with water above the normal
Limits. its been two weeks. Have not heard from the service tech or from cohens customer service even though we have repeatedly tried to reach out with no
Response. I personally
Find it utterly ridiculous that we purchased extra warranty and cannot have our washer replaced and have an unknown wait time
For “ parts” . We cannot go long without a washer with an infant at home
and have no family within town to help. People
Have complained on forums about wait times for up to
Months from cohens for parts and delays. My personal thoughts of this are that there should be a quick resolution of a new washer exchange since extra warranty was purchased through the company. And we cannot wait for god knows how long without a functioning washer.Business Response

We appreciate the fact that it is very inconvenient to be without a washing machine. We make every effort to have a tech dispatched ASAP once we receive a customer complaint. In this case I believe the tech was at the customer's home the next day, June 26th. Unfortunately the part needed to complete the repair had to be ordered. It's been 6 business days since this was done. Our extended warranty program clearly outlines in the terms and conditions document that delays or even unavailability of parts is NOT covered. The only reason for product replacement would be if the cost of repairs exceeded the cost to replace the unit.
Hopefully the part arrives soon and repairs can be completed quickly.

I am rejecting this response because:
if that is the case then the warranty is of little or no value. I could pay a repair man myself out of pocket instead of paying 214 dollars for a warranty when initially purchased. What if the part is unavailable? Then what? The cost to replace is still more…so do we just sit in limbo waiting for a part that will never arrive? … this is ridiculous and will never be having a home appliance from this business again after this experience.

I purchased a ******* washer/dryer set in October 2018. I also purchased the extended warranty which provided coverage to October 2023. In June 2023 the dryer began having an issue. Once the drying cycle was completed the drum would continue to spin even through the power appeared to be off. The drum would only stop spinning if the door was kept open. As soon as the door was closed the drum would spin with no cycle started. I called the warranty department and they sent a request to have a technician come and look at it. The technician came to my house in early July 2023 and looked over the dryer and said the control board needed to be replaced and he would order it and it would be in following week because ******* is quick sending out parts. The technician unplugged the dryer and told us not to use it. A couple of weeks went by and the part hadn’t arrived. More weeks went by and I called the repair company and finally learned that the part was on back order and they couldn’t find a supplier so Cohen’s would be ordering the part. I waited again. I checked with the repair company and Cohen’s again in mid August and the part was still on back order with no ETA. I called Cohen’s warranty department today, October 20th, and was told the part was still on back order with no known ETA. I asked at what point would my dryer be replaced as I haven’t been able to use it for just shy of 5 months. I was told I just had to wait for the part to come in. I said what if that takes two years (as an example) and was told it wouldn’t take that long and parts usually arrive within three months. I am well beyond that three months, which is far to long to be without a functional dryer. It is an extreme inconvenience to have to hang clothing to dry around our house for the past 5 months with no known end in sight. A functional washer one way or another is all my family wants. I believe if anyone at Cohen’s faces this situation they’d feel the wait without a working dryer is unreasonable.Business Response

The manufacturer is not able to supply the replacement part necessary to repair the dryer. We have reached a financial settlement with the customer in order to close this file.
Customer is good with the settlement.
