      We had a water softener installed in March 2022, even though we requested it be heat traced and put under our insulation, even paid extra to have that done, we woke this morning to no water from our softener to the rest of our home. This is the second company that installed one and said they did it right and we should have no problems. We called Culligan and were told it would be a minimum of $300 to come to look at the softener to assess it. We were led to believe that there was everything done as well as the main lines were. We have been in this home for over 7 years and it was a brand new construction. We have never had a problem with any water lines until the first and now this water softener was installed. We have water at our pressure tank coming from our well but nothing from that point on. We were also led to believe that this would be under a warranty and the labour/install would also be covered under warranty. We explained what happened with the last person we had one installed and the assured us this would not happen yet here we are.

      As requested, invoice and warranty. I contacted ******* at Culligan and he said to prove it was his water softener that froze and told us that while he had emails with us specifically requesting heat tape on the installed lines, he also said we refused them at the time of install which we did not and then told me to have the softener hooked back up that we would have to pay to have it done as no plumber was willing to touch their work. ********* had to make a bypass and disconnect the water softener so we could have access to running water.

      They did NOT pay for the extra heat trace and we advised them it was not installed. We quoted an amount and they choose a different option. So not much more I can say then that.

       I am rejecting this response because:
      We requested the heat trace be put on. There are emails stating we requested it. The technician told us after he was done installing the softner that we didn't need the heat trace and he didn't put it on because it would be fine tucked under the insulation.
