We recently had our front entry deck, roof columns, and a large back deck built by Archadeck and they did a wonderful job! We weren't sure about the final design and materials, but the team gave us lots of options and helped us every step of the way. We’re especially excited about the low-maintenance materials they recommended. The carpenters were polite, professional, and a pleasure to work with. We were impressed by the project management throughout, especially with us being out of province for periods of time during construction. The team kept us updated with plenty of photos, ensuring everything was on track. We highly recommend this company for any outdoor living projects!

We went to Archadeck with the idea of replacing our aging front porch with a screened in version. The plan they proposed transformed our entire home. It is above and beyond anything we originally imagined while still retaining a simplicity of design that suits us. We couldn't be happier with the final result. The construction craftsmanship was excellent. The crew obviously took pride in their work and kept us well informed; we felt that they were working hard to make something that would please us. On a few design items we changed our minds mid stream and the crew chief ironed out the details and made it happen.They respected our small property and dirt road. They worked hard Mon-Fri and were always cheerful and helpful. The end result is a 3-season, glassed-in addition that has been fully insulated, with a full open porch on top. Two more large windows and an 8 ft glass sliding door connect everything to our home. We have a large scattered family and now there is room for everyone. Archadeck may be more expensive than some other options. We wrestled with this but decided to go all in. Now, in seeing the design, the quality of materials, the excellent management, communication and workmanship , we know we made the best choice for our renovation! Archadeck delivers on quality which is what they promise. You may be able to find cheaper options but we wanted the assurance of professionals managing our project. The use of their app gave us invaluable insight into the progress of the work as we were away on vacation during the time. Communication was great and there was genuine concern from the project manager that we receive a product that we love.Archadeck of Nova Scotia

We had a great experience with Archadeck for our front porch. We took comfort knowing that all bases were covered (i.e. permits and inspection). We loved seeing the digital rendering of our project and we actually think that seeing our project before it was started prompted to make changes that we wouldn't have made otherwise! They were respectful of our property and that of our neighbours. We wouldn't hesitate to hire them again for another project.Archadeck of Nova Scotia

We had the folks from Archadeck come and install a metal railing on the front step and stairs of our house, and from beginning to end it was a pleasant experience. When we called and made an appointment with Archadeck the Sales Representative that visited us was very prompt and courteous, and did an excellent job explaining the various options that could meet our needs.. When we visited the Archadeck deck office, to discuss their recommendations and the detailed project plan once again the Sales Representative that looked after us did an excellent job explaining the detailed project plan, and exactly what we could expect. Finally the people that executed the detailed project plan were very professional, and did an excellent job carrying out our railing installation. We are extremely happy!!Archadeck of Nova Scotia

Archadeck recently finished a project for me and I couldn't be happier with the outcome! It was my first time dealing with them and I was so pleased with the level of service they gave me and my project. They were great to deal with from the initial phone inquiry to the inspection of the finished job, and the project was completed right on schedule! They were a pleasure to deal with and I highly recommend them. I have another project in mind and I will definitely be calling them.Archadeck of Nova Scotia

Very large (expensive) project constructed winter of 2021; two-level deck and attached 3-season room. The guys doing the actual work were great. Less than 18 months later part of the deck collapsed, because of failure of the concrete pad underneath it. Archadeck washed their hands of it, claiming "how were we to know?" the concrete underneath wouldn't hold. Because, perhaps, they'd had engineers look at it and PLAN the construction? "Warranty"? Nope! We are non-engineer homeowners with NO expertise in design or construction, and trusted Archadeck to plan and build according to their expertise. We have since had other certified engineers look at it, who said the problematic area that failed was very obvious and should have been noticed and planned for. This also meant that we could not use the only other exit from our house, onto our back deck, for many months waiting for this to be resolved. The partially collapsed deck was dangerous to walk on. Their answer? "it's not dangerous if you stay off it!". VERY VERY disappointed in their attitude. They gave us an estimate of fixing it "sometime in 2024", with destruction and heavy equipment and torn-up landscaping. We went to another firm who used careful professional engineers to plan and fix it. They came quickly and had some compassion and professionalism, and fixed the problem. So no, I do NOT recommend Archadeck. And we have many many professional friends who will never use this firm, based on our completely unsatisfactory experience.Archadeck of Nova Scotia

Thank you for the feedback. We are very sorry, this is unusual for us and we sympathize with your situation. There was no indication or reason for us to believe that the slab was not up to the code or attached to the foundation, which was noted on your contract specifications (see attached, signatures left out for customer confidentiality). During the pricing and construction phase, we saw no reason to replace your existing concrete slab. If you refer to the attached photographs the existing concrete appears level, and in good condition. When we inspected it, we saw no indication of any concerns. The concrete would not be handled under warranty, as we did not construct the existing concrete pad. This is why you were presented with a new scope of work to fix the concrete structure. You reached out to us late July in regards to the issues you were noticing, we were prompt in booking an investigation site visit but you were away, so we booked the site visit for August 1st. You were made aware August 14th that based on the documentation and site visit, that it would not fall under our warranty, as the failing was in your concrete slab which we did not construct. We then took the time required to gather the information/pricing and work you into our tight schedule to produce the scope of work, which is what caused the delay between the initial site visit and presenting you the estimate/scope of work. The summer months are our busiest time of the year and we were as prompt as we could be. We understand this was very upsetting to you and you being left with an unusable deck during the end of summer. There was no harm meant, only thinking of safety, when advising/recommending all persons stay off and out of underneath the structure and noted we would not be able to get this fixed for you right away. Your specifications document indicated a winter 2023 start date, which are the timelines we had our project pipeline running at but would have prioritized you as possible knowing your deck was unusable, as we as a company specializing in deck building, have the utmost compassion for your situation. As per the torn up landscaping, we note in our documentation as a standard note that existing landscaping may be affected, there is also a signed What to Expect document explaining this (see attached, signatures left out for customer confidentiality). We are glad that you were able to get the issues fixed and are sorry that we were not given the opportunity to fix it for you. We care immensely for our customers, strive to provide quality customer service and workmanship and work on improving in any way we can. Archadeck surpassed our expectations and totally delivered on the design and final product.
