    GetMovers was hired for a local move on December 8th, 2023 and booked on November 23rd, 2023. I spoke to the owner Tom on the phone who asked about heavy items and gym equipment. I mentioned a rowing machine and large/heavy tube television in the basement. He said that these would be included in the cost of the move and I would not have to pay any additional fees. He also said that they would be sending 3 movers on the day of the move. This has all been documented in emails. Leading up to the move they also asked for a breakdown of all the items in the rooms as well as an estimated number of boxes, all of which were well packed well and accurate. The day prior they called to confirm details and I was told I would be receiving 3 movers.

    On the day of the move only 2 movers showed up, one smelling heavily of marijuana at 9:20 am. They seemed unaware of the large tube television that was discussed and gave no explanation of why they were down one person. They used no moving blankets until the items were in the truck and made no effort to protect my walls, floors or the objects they were carrying. After unloading the truck and coming back smelling of marijuana again they proceeded to the basement and immediately dropped the tube television, breaking it on impact. They then said it was too heavy and refused to move it despite being warned of the size and weight multiple times via email and over the phone. I made it perfectly clear this was heavy and the reason I requested 3 movers. The broken television is still currently in the basement of my old place and GetMovers is ignoring my calls and emails. They sent out an automated email where I can file a claim but ignored the request for removal of the tube television and have not returned my calls or answered my emails. shouldn't have to hire another moving company to clean up after them. For a company that also advertizes junk removal this should be a very obvious start to finding a resolution for this failure.

As per the agreed Terms and Conditions as well as per the below-signed Contract, we would not be able to issue the requested compensation. Please not as well that we clearly stated that claim resolution takes 14 business days after claim submission, as well as even moving company can address damage claims, we do not have any obligation for utilization/removal of the damaged items.

     I am rejecting this response because:

    This was clearly reported to your crew during the move, as they had dropped and broken the television and when I asked about it they said to contact the company. This was also reported in the attached email which you can see happened during the move. You also offer no explanation as to why only two movers showed up when it was supposed to be three and why they seemed to have no idea of what they were responsible for moving. Your website lists junk removal and even lists the steps for junk being removed at the end of the move, your movers made no effort and left me to hire a junk removal company of my own to remove the items who did a much more professional job than the movers you sent to damage my belongings.
