The elevators are down a lot which seniors are stuck home for days. Washing machines break a lot and the room is dirty. The windows and doors are out dated. Winter time the wind rips through the apartments. Bugs are able to crawl through the cracks of the windows and doors. The units come with broken blinds which your told that your problem. There is no ventilation system in the kitchen making it a fire and safety hazard. Whenever cooking the fire alarm goes off constantly. Tenants are allowed to keep pigeons on their balcony thus crapping all over everyone’s things to the point you can’t use your balcony. The security fob door to the underground parking keeps braking so anyone can get in and break into vehicles. Management doesn’t seem to care about the issues or wellbeing of the tenants. Been here 6 years and I’ve done property rentals in the past in another city. This is not the way to run a business or place. They need to cut the rent costs. It’s over priced for the issues we deal with on a day to day basis

the reviews are not at all surprising especially in these times.
The bottom line is it’s a business and the company and their employees of leasing agents, building managers, local and business managers, in my opinion have no concern or consideration for the residents. We have first hand experience in having to deal with our own issues and have not had any response from the upper management at all. Only that the local team will not be addressing our concerns going forward.
The building has changed so much within the past couple of years in a very negative way.
If they don't make their tenants happy, or resolve their issues, Killam will benefit financially as they can (when you are unhappy living there), increase the rent for the new tenants significantly and make a huge profit, especially if the tenants have been in the building for many years . In our case the rent for the new tenants is going up $430 a month.
So we are leaving for our own mental health and happiness but sadlyleaving behind many friends and acquaintances.
Only blanket responses for the incoming tenants ie noise “its typical apt noise”, even when this is the reason we are leaving! When we moved in here it was such a wonderful “family atmosphere”.
The old superintendent was amazing and tried to accommodate us with the desire to make ours a happy home. Now we are concerned that the new tenants, especially as most are senior with the need for lifestyle changes, will be met with the same issues of why we find ourselves making an exit. Our issues were not validated and there were no resolutions or even attempts to make us happy.
Many of the seniors that live in this building (many alone)will not make a complaint and often excuse the behaviours of the company. For whatever reason, the company has their own agenda, So its sad that many of the tenants are stuck in a situation where they can’t afford to move or even speak their mind for fear of repercussions or quick assistance if needed.

We moved to Canada and we did know nothing here. So we rented a apartment at Killan but we did not happy there, because: 1. The homelesses stolen our stuff inside our car; 2. Another homeless put fire inside the bin garbage and the firefighter was there to figure out; 3. One guy who not a tenent entered inside the building and had an overdose iand fell down on the floor; 3. We watched a homeless died from overdose in our backyard. My daughter is so scared about this situation. In February I went there to ask them another apartment in other area. They did not take care about it. So, mu dsughter cries all the time scared about the homelesses and we decided to move after 8 month leaving there, they did not acccept and they just want money due broken the contract. In the contract also wasns’t written the homeless enter in the build and steal the tenent sfutt! I am really dessppointed bur never more in my life I will rent nothing from Killan. They are really inflexible to help the tenents.

Well I'm very discussed in sunset park in Curling which is owned by killiam properties. As they have rules n regulations you have to read and signed before the signing of the lease lot. I've been there 2 years and 2 winters and the neighbour is burying me in with the snow and I've taking pictures and videos and sent to them and still nothing is done. In the rules and regulations the neighbour can't place their snow on other people lot. The neighbour is in full force on doing it yet got another email today nothing they can do because they sent letters and talked to the neighbours on the phone . It states if the rules is being broken they can evict. Still not doing nothing as the snow keeps piling up. They says it's a civil matter. It puzzles me why it is as it again states in rules n regulations you can't be placing snow on other people lot. I guess they are scared or the neighbour has something on the park. Seems they can do whatever they pleases and ypu have to turn a blind eye. So my advice to anyone who wants to live in this park is to think twice as they are only there for your money and not the well being of all tenants.

Literally crying from the hours of noise above my head that Killam is doing NOTHING about.
I am literally CRYING right now from the mental torture of HOURS of noise! Complaints do nothing.
I am 50 years old and going to take a heart attack any day I feel it coming.
    This is NOT a joke.

Grid5 building in Calgary has absolutely horrible management and standards.

Management actively lies and misleads, totally incompetent, there's little-to-no security, break ins of apartments, very frequent break ins of cars in the parkade, poor waste disposal, poor management of ice and snow during the winter, elevators constantly break down, heat breaks in the winter, AC breaks in the summer, the common spaces are filthy, old appliances, some units have bedbug infestations, and sometimes contractors will walk into units unannounced (not even a knock) at all hours of day and night because they have keys.

Avoid the Grid 5 building if you're looking for a home.
