We had our commercial insurance with them for 10 years without any claims but every year they asked for more and more documents, increased our insurance, reduced our capacity to work for no reason. Their Underwriting think that they own the world. **** **** **** **** ******* *** **** **** ***** *** ***** ** ** ********* **** *********** ** *** **** ***** ** **** Not Recommended at ALL!!!

My husband and I were customers with Desjardins for years prior to missing a payment due to a banking mix up while overseas during the Christmas holidays. Not only was Desjardins nearly impossible to get in touch with to resolve this issue, they called our cell phones nightly over the holidays despite the fact that I had REPEATEDLY requested that our representative email us due to the time difference. Then, in order to reinstate our policy, we were required to pay over $500 on a <$200 policy. For some reason their accounting department seemed incapable of billing our cards, and we ended up providing them with essentially all of our account info over the span of weeks, all while out of the country *** ****** ** ***** * ********* Apparently, the years of regular payments we made were not sufficient to place some trust in us repaying them when we returned from holidays. They then double billed us across two different accounts and we had to go through a whole process to get their accounting department to refund us the overbilled amount.
When we had another banking issue occur months later and decided to switch insurance companies ****** **** **** **** **** ******** ****** they somehow found a reason to send just under $300 to a collections agency, despite the fact that we were up to date on our payments.

I went with Personal Insurance (Desjardins) even though they they were more expensive then my last insurance company. I thought I was going to have better service. But since making a claim after the May 2022 storm they have been rude and unresponsive.

Not a good insurance company. When you call and ask questions about your benefits they are not clear and then deny claims. When asking to speak to a manager the manager took weeks to reply to me. ***** *** *********

This company has continually been raising rates since they became Desjardins. Every renewal for both home and auto, I can be sure there's an increase. I was told "Well, the claims for home and auto have increase, and the company didn't make the profit they expected"
Guess what? That's the nature of being in business. You can't mitigate your risk to near zero to keep your shareholders are happy by just continually fleecing people over time. If you have a tough year, then suck it up.
I got a combined quote from *** *** that is almost $800 cheaper a year with overall better coverage.
Desjardins is flying too close to the sun.

I had my home and autos insured through a sister company of Desjardins (*** ********), and had to deal with the Desjardins personal to file a hail claim. It was one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. After agreeing to use a contractor of their choosing (mistake!), it took 4 months just to receive a quote on the damages. Many of my neighbors had their repairs completed before I even had a quote. I was also shuffled between 3 of their representatives during this period. In the end, they would only agree to replace half my shingles, and refused to replace the damaged siding as repairing it was less expensive. This was something I definitely didn't want, especially when all my neighbors had their damaged siding replaced. In all, it took over 1 1/2 year to deal with Desjardin and have the repairs completed, some of which I paid for myself.

On August 14th I had an off road vehicle stolen from me the vehicle was found a week later but it was a total loss the vehicle sat in a tow yard for over a week before they did anything when they finally picked up the vehicle it took another week to assess the damage once that was done my advisor was on vacation for a week so everything was on hold after that I was offered almost 10k less than what the vehicle was worth I also had about 5k of aftermarket parts on the vehicle and they asked me to show proof of purchasing the part's (receipts) I provided proof just for them to say I put them on at my own risk this claim has been going on for almost a month and a half and my advisor doesn't even want to talk to me Desjardins you're doing a horrible job all together.
