1 star* ** ******* ** ******** **** * ********* ******* 401 Auto Sales for **** * ******* ** ** ********* ******** ********* *** a refusal to honour warranty obligations. In 2021, I financed a 2019 vehicle through 401 Auto. Within three months of purchase, the engine failed completely.
Despite the vehicle being under warranty and my repeated attempts to seek assistance, both 401 Auto and *** refused to repair or replace the engine. I was left with a non-functional vehicle and a loan I was still required to pay, despite not having a usable car. I have strong reason to believe I was sold a defective vehicle and ****** about its condition and warranty coverage.

1 starThey **** ***** **** ***** *********** charged me a ridiculous rate. Then when I tried to get issues dealt with my warranty meant nothing. They charged me to fix the car - they took a week longer to look at it than they told me. The rental agency I went with has monthly payments that are about the same as what I'm paying (double what I was told the payments would be) for the financed vehicle. My warranty was supposed to be for 5 years - which is why I accepted a car tho I wanted a truck, SUV or van) but now my warranty went down to a year. Tho it doesn't matter as they won't honor it. **** * ******** ** ****Review fromSarah J

** ** *** ****** to run someone’s credit when you browse their website.
When you go to browse their lot- 3 offers sitting on the table before you even walk in the door..
not disclosing the price after being asked numerous times.. but is willing to show you super high bi weekly payments.
Don’t ever dare question the interest rates or how come it’s so high.. don’t ever offer a co signer to help lower the rates- because who knew that co signers are not needed anymore they won’t help you. Just sign on the dotted line please.
My all time favourite is as your walking away from this clearly great deal- you ask what lenders approved me “ can’t disclose that information “ can’t disclose a lender who approved me.. **** **** ****** **** * *****.
Asking for a car fax- good luck you’ll have a hard time getting one.. *** ** **** I did get the vin off the vehicles run your own checks.. *** **** **** ***** ** **** *** *** **** **** ***** *** ******* ** ***** ***** ** ******* *** ******* ***** ***** ****** ***** ****** ** *** **** ********* ** ** *** ****** **** **** ******* **** ** ***** *** * ******* ** *** ****** **** **** **** *** * ****** **** *** ****** ** **** ** * ******** **** *** **** ** ** *** ******* **** *** ***** ** *** ******* ****** **** ******* ********* **** ***** ******* ******* *** ** * ********* *** ******** ***** ***** ********* ***** ** ***** ***** ** **** ****** ** * ***** ***** *** **** ** ** ***** ** ***Review fromIvan H

I was sold a 2018 ******** *** which was already $6,000 over market value, and after all taxes and fees, I am now $32,000 upside down in negative equity.
These vehicles are worth around $18,000 on market with the same mileage and in much better condition, but in total, they are charging me $52,000.
As if this wasn't already bad enough, they also put SEMI-SLICKS on the vehicle, which happen to be illegal for public road use. This vehicle, with said semi-slicks, is dangerous to drive in any weather other than dry summer conditions.
I went back to the dealership to ask for all-season tires to make my vehicle legal and safe to drive, but they told me that they aren't responsible to provide said tires, while this car also would NOT pass safety with these tires.
** *** *** **** ******** *** **** *** ********** ******* *** *** you WILL be stuck with the vehicle along with losing more money than the vehicle was worth when it was BRAND NEW.
Another thing I will add here as well is that they wouldn't let me test drive it until AFTER I had purchased the vehicle and received the keys, and straight up refused to take ANY accountability whatsoever about the many issues I've had with this vehicle.
I have owned this car for just barely a month, and I have had to boost it to drive back to their service centre after my battery died twice. Not only did they not fix the problem the first time around, they also ******* me into believing that I had left the headlights on overnight which was NOT the case, as proven by the security cameras on my property where the vehicle died within 12 hours.
***** ** *** *** ** ***** ******** ** *** *** *** *** ********** *** **** **** **** ****** ***** ****** ****** While this may be the norm for the cheaper end of used vehicle lots, they are charging extravagant prices for vehicles that won't last longer than a year.Review fromNaythan F

5 starsI just got my **** **** from 401 Auto in Sudbury and I am really satisfied.
Jeff B. is the associate who helped me and he was awesome to deal with. Not only did he get me financing but he got it for the vehicle I wanted for payments within my budget but on a shorter term then expected.
I was worried as this was my first time financing a vehicle but they taught me alot and really impressed me with the vehicle I now have.
I recommend contacting them if you are looking for a new (used) vehicle.Review fromRita T

1 starI purchased a vehicle from 401 Auto in Sudbury in August and after just one day of driving it my check engine light came on and when I brought it to a family friend who had a scanner a code came up for a catalytic converter replacement which when I took it to the dealer told me would cost over $3000. The vehicle was sold to me without a warranty of any kind and they are expecting me to pay for the repairs which I am refusing to do because this issue should have been fixed before it was sold to me and I am getting nothing but run around from the dealer and excuses from Justin M. service managerReview fromShelldan R

1 starI financed a car that was in a accident. I was told to bring the car to there mechanic. That was a ***. No mechanic including there's wanted to do anything. I had to pay out my pocket. I was told to forward the receipt and when I did I was given a serious run around by the company. I signed for the car and asked if I would be able to return the car I was told yes. I was also told it would be a 4 year loan. Now to find out I have to payout this car until 2029. When I went back my contract was marked out all over it. And changed. I was also told that the person who did my loan was no longer working there. Which was also another ***. *** ** *** ***** ******* ** * **** ***** ********* And 401 is misusing the rules that they are being allowed to.Review fromAndre B

1 star** ****** ***** ***** *** **** ******* ******** **** ** ******* I wanted to buy a vehicle and this company took ********* of that. They rushed me to sign and online contract and would not give me the contract in my possession to look over. They told me everything I wanted to hear about warranty verbally but when it came down to it now seeing the expenses I have for the vehicle due to it being a lemon I realized they were very ********* In this deal. I also take accountability for being foolish to falling for these tactics and not knowing the simple saying “if it’s to good to be true usually it is”. When I arrived to get this vehicle **** ** ****** I started it and it had a rough unsettling sound that was bad but not bad enough to drive off the lot. Keep in mind they already got me to sign so I know the car is already mine at that point. Few days later I contacted the sales person who sold the car stating there’s already issues with the car that makes me feel it’s unsafe for driving. They ask me to bring it it and diagnosed it to be the engine leading to the sound I first heard when I started the vehicle off the lot. Long story short I was quoted 7500+ in expenses to replace the engine for a vehicle I just bought and the warranty only covers $2500. **** ******* ****** ** *** ********** * *** *** * **** **** ******** *** **** ***** ** ******** **** ********** *** ***** *** ******** ** *** ***** *Review fromGarrett S

This company sells salvage yard vehicles/ bonded vehicles without informing their customers. They are very pushy and misleading. They throw digital paperwork at you and fail to inform you of small print info. Every time a complication arises they find a way to make the issue a result of the customers lack of knowledge. **** *** *** ******** ** * ******* *********** They tell you what they know you want to hear, from stating you grand total bill of sale to finding out that there was no adjustment to the prices as verbally discussed! They send what paperwork they want to the bank and that's that! They failed to fix the discussed issues in regards to the vehicle! As if that wasn't enough, they removed the DVD player and the 6disc, the donut or spare tire was rusted to a very unsafe or unusable state! There were no air filterx in the vehicle at all, this was discovered by my routine mechanic 1 week after having the vehicle. He felt an oil change was needed. * ***** *** ** *********** the worst piece of the experience was gaining the knowledge that they had not done the sale with co-signer! ******* **** *** *** **** ******* ** ** ** *** ** ******** ******* *** ********* * ***** *** ******* **** ***** ** **** **** **** ***** ** **** ** ******** Still trying to get the issue figured out 3 years later!
