1 starI applied for a car on August 9th 2024 and was contacted immediately by a salesperson. Over the weekend, we had a car picked out and a contract signed. Everything was done online and through text as I was working and didn't have the time to do a phone call or go into the office. As of now, September 3, 2024 I am still waiting to pick up the vehicle. I've been told that the tech was out sick and couldn't do the safety certificate. It took them two weeks to get someone from another office to come in. Another 3 or 4 days to finally get it done. I was then promised delivery of the vehicle over the past weekend and gave heard nothing since Friday. Not impressed. I'm already making insurance payments and loan payments.Review fromBrandy M

1 star** * ***** **** * **** **** * ****** I bought a car in May 2023 from the ******** location. It was my first time buying my own car ** * *** ***** ********* I bought the car online and was sent photos stating the car was “dirty”. Other than that, the car liked fine. I was pressured into signing the contract very quickly. I signed only later to discover once I zoomed in on the “dirt” that it was damage to the car.. both front and rear bumpers. When I called regarding the damage I was told there was nothing they could do to fix it and also nothing I could do to pull out of the deal as I already signed the contract. When they delivered the car, the damage was worse than the pictures showed. Why was I not told about the damage? When I protested I was told it is what it is and there was nothing they could do for me. They then said to try claiming it on a bogus dent insurance package they added onto the contract in a month’s time… I called… there was no account. I called to speak to a manager and was told he was in a “meeting” and would call me back. It’s been over a year and not once did he call. Longest meeting ever.
Long story short… the most disappointing and eye opening experience of my life.Review fromNickolas T

1 starWorst business to deal with. Bought a camper trailer from them in 2022, made almost 2 years of payments only to fond out that we have only paid 2 grand from the total amount. Decided to look at the paperwork in depth, only to find out that we will have only paid off 5 grand on a 5 year term, then still owe 32k for 15 years after my term. Our sales person rushed us through the paperwork, didn't give us time to read anything, so now I'm finding everything out now. Very disappointed with the customer service. Next issue, the one storage cubby leaked, among other issues, so we brought the trailer in to get fixed, they had it for almost 3 months of the summer, only to turn it away and state that there were no issues. And guess what? The storage cubby still leaks! I cannot get out of this contract now until I pay the full value of the trailer. And each time I call the company, I get told "it's not our problem" and "there's nothing we can do for you" * **** ** ***** ********* *** and no way of getting out of the contract so I am stuck with the trailer for 15 years after my contract. Very disappointed and upset.Review fromMairi L

1 starI bought a vehicle in October 2023 from this company, for which I unfortunately completely overpaid. What’s worse is that shortly after I bought it things started to go wrong with it. It started guzzling oil and then the heating system stopped working. Now the A/C doesn't work. 401 Auto refused to return my calls or emails in regards to this matter.Review fromRobyn S

Got a car within a month the AC went out and they didn’t want to fix it. Now under three years of having this vehicle the transmission has gone. We were charged double to what the car is actually worth so we’re paying off the “interest” now and we’re stuck with not having been able to drive our car for almost two months now401 Auto RV Canada Inc.

1 star******** DO NOT RECOMMEND
Horrible customer service. We wanted to buy a nice new trailer for our family and all we have gotten is headache after headache. Water heater hasn’t worked right since day one. Have had leaks because when they took the trailer for the winter and winterized it they didn’t do it properly. We’ve been trying to have this dealt with and said they would put us in touch with customer care, they gave us to a sales person. ******* **** ** **** ****** We are so frustrated we’ve talked to our lawyer, who has told us the contracts are pretty solid, and we are stuck with this piece of *******. **** *** ************ ****** *** **** ** *** Do go there if you want a nice new trailer. *** *** ****** *** ******** **** ***** ** *** ********Review fromTrudie D

Last year I bought a car at 401auto at Hamilton location I can tell it was not the best experience recently last week someone from the renewal dept called me saying they could help me to reduce the interest I'm paying now, I was happy and later on Andrea called me saying the way to help me reducing interest was trading in my car and get another one
I said to Andrea I would like to have a brand new SUV but she said it was not possible but she offer me a 2021 ****** because according to her that car will absorb the negative equity of my current vehicle I was not sure about it so I refused because I preferred a brand new car.
next day Andrea called me again saying she got me a better deal, so I went again to 401Auto on Upper James in Hamilton and Brian, her manager was waiting for me to explain me the same situation about the used ******, but this time he said he will give me a car that worth's $30,000 at the price of $19,000 this way this car will absorb the $11,000 of negative equity of my current car once I understood the situation I said yes. but
Surprise!
when I started singing the documents I realize that after all the explanation from the "Manager" they wanted to charge $16,000 of negative equity of my current vehicle plus $30,000 of the used when I saw that I told Andrea it was not what Brian and me discussed before so this time she went for **** * **** guy I think his name was Kevin he came to me and started talking **** to me trying to intimidate me to sing, I got scared I just ask Andrea for my documents and ran away from there, ** **** *** **** *** ***** * ** **** ************* ********** *** ***** ****** ** ** ********* * **** ******* *** **** **** *** ***** ***** ****** ****** **** *** ******** * ***** **** **** ** ************ ********* **** * ******** **** *** *** ************ **** *** ******** **** hope someone who actually cares about customers can contact me401 Auto RV Canada Inc.

Thank you BBB for bringing this matter to our attention.
****,
We apologize your recent experience did not meet your expectations, however I would like to provide you with the following information. When it comes to trading in your vehicle, if you're still paying off your loan but want to trade in your vehicle, the dealer subtracts your current car's value from the new car and you pay the difference. If you have negative equity, you're responsible for covering the difference between your loan balance and the trade-in price.
If it turns out that you owe more on your car than it's worth, you'll have to pay the remaining amount on your old vehicle loan, which in your case would be the $16,000 of negative equity.
I hope this helps explain your recent experience, if you have any further question please reach out at ************@********.caReview fromK. M.

** *** ** ******* *** ***** ********** ** ********* They don't look into anything for you, **** ******* ** *** ****. What they failed to tell me was that there was a lein on my car AFTER they took it from me and gave me another one. Look who has to pay, me, the customer. *** **** ******401 Auto RV Canada Inc.

********, If the remaining loan amount is higher than the trade-in value, it results in negative equity. In this case, the remaining loan amount is considered a negative amount that needs to be addressed in the new deal. This means that the outstanding balance on the trade-in vehicle's loan is added to the financing of the new vehicle. The new financing agreement will reflect the details of the rolled-over lien, which was provided and signed on the new bill of sale. I hope this explains how this works, if you have any further questions, please contact us at ***********@********.ca
