      They moved my things from *********************************** Apt.1118. March *******. They were supposed to arrive at 10:30 -11:00 am.I called around 11:00 am and was told the movers would arrive at 12:30-1:00pm. And when they arrived they were rude.And during this process the movers broke my 48" television,also my wall unit and a few of my Tupperware Bins. And when I contacted the owner I presume it was him I spoke with he told me they will not replace these items and he said his crew were not responsible and the city quoted him wrong regarding what he was to move. And all they had to move for furniture regarding furniture from my 1 bedroom apt was my 3 pc wall unit which they ended up breaking. And I had about ***** boxes plus 14 Bins I am disabled and I feel they should replace what they broke. The owner was supposed to call me back and didn't.He said his movers waited 40 minutes at my new residence for me.( only waited because my daughter had to load the rest of the items that the movers had left in the apartment into her van.Then the movers unloaded all my contents in the hallway of the building outside my apartment and asked my daughter to bring the items in the apt. From the hallway. Anything they brought in after that they just dropped in my living room all though boxed were clearly marked. I would not ever reccomend this company and I'm disappointed the way myself and my belongings were treated.

      Thank you for your feedback. While we understand and respect your concerns, we would like to clarify a few important points regarding your move.


      First, this move was paid for by a third party under a flat rate agreement, based on the list of items provided by the customer at the time the quote was created and approved.


      The customer was informed both at the time of approval and in the days leading up to the move that her move would take place after the completion of a prior job that morning. She was clearly notified that the expected arrival window would be between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, and we arrived within that timeframe.


      Upon arrival, our team performed their duties efficiently and professionally. At the destination, our movers waited approximately 50 minutes for the customer to arrive. Once they began unloading, they placed the items as requested. After completing the job, the customer asked if our ********************** could help unload her personal vehicle, which was not part of the agreed service. Due to time constraints and the extra work already performed, our team lead politely declined, and unfortunately, the interaction became tense.


      The day after the move, we contacted the paying party to inform them of what had happened as we do with any third-party-sponsored move when an issue arises.


      A few days later, the customer called the office and expressed dissatisfaction about not receiving help unloading her car. She also mentioned that some items were damaged, but when asked for specifics, she cited only a broken lid from a bin. These bins had been in storage for approximately three years, and no major furniture or fragile items were part of the move except for three shelving pieces all of which were handled with care.


      We are sorry the experience did not meet expectations, but we believe this review is not a fair reflection of the service provided.

      I am rejecting this response because:like I said before they broke my items. I never called them regarding the workers  not helping me unload my daughters van. The workers waited at the new unit because they left stuff that should have been moved in the truck but we had to load in my daughter's van. Also they did not handle my wall unit with care or it wouldn't be all scratched up or broken. 

      Also as far as the Tupperware  Bins go it was actual Tupperware  at $53. 00 each and it was not in storage for 3 years so I do not not where that story came from. Also they broke 9 of my Tupperware storage Bins which I had my clothes in due to a bug problem at my old building .

      Hence why I only brought boxes and Bins with me also,my TV was in a box if they were respectfully handling my items my TV,wall unit and storage Bins would not have been broken. I realize they were paid from the city for my move but that's no reason to trash my items.

      Also after the movers unloaded all my items in the hall way they had asked my daughter to bring it in the apartment.  If she wouldn't have been here I don't know what I would have done as I'm disabled and that's the only reason I had movers to begin with.i am very disgusted in how they treated my belongings and how the owner or whichever has handled this situation  with lies. I was told originally  they would be there about 10:30 but when I called at 11:00 that's when I was told about the other move and times. 

      I'm sorry I understand  you  are  doing a service by the city.

      But that is not a reason to mistreat the client and their possessions.

      My name is ********** ********* I am 69 year in old senior who lives alone. I got Easy Way Movers thru City of Ottawa for senior emergency assistance to move on March 1st, 2023 but they didn’t show up until the next day March 2nd. I am complaining that the movers have damaged some of my furniture. Two of my dining room chairs are broken ; my dining room table has scratches and is wobbly ; and my refrigerator has a dent and my washing machine hoses were all removed and never replaced back. My headboard is not steady and it makes squeaky noises . I reported my complaint to Easy Way Movers and they sent a representative to my place to look at my damages . The representative did not acknowledge that there were any damages ,and he was rude and he left my place without resolving anything.
      Is there anything *** can do to help me resolve this issue. I would like my damaged items to be repaired or replaced or compensated.

      Hello,

      the customer called us few weeks ago to inquire about our 

      moving services and and asked to get the city approve the move .we did all the paper work and booked her

      for march 1st( it was las minutes approval ).we were doing another job on the 28 ( senior home) the building elevator stoped working  and two hours later the management asked us to leave and to come the day after because seniors need to relax .

      we called the customer and explained the situation and she said it happen and she is ok for the  march 2nd.

      the move was supposed to three movers and a truck and it is paid for 3 hours plus the travel time .

      We have sent a truck and  4 movers. To just say sorry and to make sure the customer is happy . 
      we did move everything in a very professional way and guarantee you there was no single issue.. the lady is senior and had some relative of her watching the work and she also got annoyed from the customer who was really being tough and following the movers Everywhere they walk. 
      the customer were supposed to make sure to clean the snow from then movers way, she of course didn’t, our movers helped to clean their way from the truck to the house and they walked in the snow ( back yard) up to the knee to get her sofa out because it didn’t fit through the main door .. 

      customer  was told that we don’t take off appliances of the walls or connect them back but the  movers helped taking them if the pipes and the walls because of the  customer age.

      after we did 5 hours of work , the customer was happy and she were asked to sign the paper work before the movers leave, she refused and asked to go get her small grocery bags and food from the old house before they leave. We did our best to make her happy. ( her relative witness all that)

       

      she called and compliant about take off the washer pipe from the wall and also of the washer . This is how it is supposed to be, taking off the washer so wouldn’t break while we carrying .

      one time she said , the box spins was on top of the mattress, another says my chair broken  another says the washer pipe.

      we agreed on sending someone to make sure she is happy and to connect her washer.

      as soon as he got into the unit ( yesterday ) he asked to show the broken chair , she showed a chair with nooo any issue and told her madam this chair is in perfect condition. She got  mad said( you better leave my place then) our man had no option but to leave the place .. she called and asked to send him again and she sorry but we will not do that and few minutes later she called and was threatening to call the police and  was really aggressive.

      the guy drove 40 minutes each way to help her.

      before we send someone , we were advices not to go back after we explained the situations) 

      This customer didn’t appreciate the hard work the movers did, the us not charging her for the extra two hours of work ( we did all that because of her age )

      Over all, this is honestly a fake complaint and has nothing to do with our movers or services .

      I am very sorry to see suck a complaint in here 

      I am afraid that we have to send an invoice and ask the customer to pay the  different ($420 )

      I believe the customer is just stressed and tired of moving and nothing to do with us.

      We he city is already informed about all this .

      Hello, 

      Once again, we have sent one our team to check on the item damaged. He lady showed. Dining chair in a VERY good condition 

      and she was trying around to just to find anything scratch and she didn’t.  Our man told her Madame the 

      chair is in perfect condition and nothing wrong. She responded saying , get out of my house.

      She called and said she is sorry for what she did and she is lonely and she wish we can connect her washer. ( we usually don’t disconnect or reconnect appliances, but I promised to help with that .

      next day, she filed the complaint.

      we cared about her and her items and differently we didn’t damage anything.

      we worked hard, and sent more movers to make sure she is happy but someone there is not.

      her relative/sister  is as there the day of the move and saw how hard we did work and she asked her to stop following the movers for her safety.

       

       

      customer refused to sign the contract, kicked the man we sent, he drove 40 minute and she kicked him right away .

      We have nothing to do after all that .

      I am rejecting this response because: I am claiming my furniture and appliances has been damaged as a result of the moving. To clarify, I never called to apologize to easy way overs. That’s a lie. The business has fabricated the story. The business knows nothing about my private life and has no business of accusing me of being lonely. This is also a lie. I am not a lonely lady. I have two children and three grandchildren. I have friends and family that are supportive. I have lived in the same neighbourhood on the same street for 21 years, and I have friends that know me in this neighbourhood. To clarify, I just moved three houses down from my previous address. I am still living in the same neighbourhood and street. The people that know me in this neighbourhood know I keep my furniture immaculate and in very good condition. Just to clarify, I have asked the person from Easy Way Movers that visited my home lied and said I had nothing wrong with my furniture or had any other damages. I realized we weren’t getting anywhere because he was not acknowledging the damages or inspecting the damages. He was rude and intimidating. So, I asked him to leave my home. I am still claiming that my dining room table is scratched and wobbly, and the corner of the table has a nick on it. The two chairs are broken. After unpacking, I also noticed my refrigerator and washing machine has a dent. Also, I noticed a broken lamp. I had a cabinet TV stand, and the movers said that they couldn’t move it into my house. They did not even try to bring the TV stand inside. Up until today, I still don’t know where my TV stand has gone to. I am tired with the back and forth messages. I would like this issue resolved. ***, I would like a third party to inspect my damages with Easy Way Movers present at my home to resolve this. Unless there are other options, please let me know.
