My 2014 Pathfinder got the Jutter signal last year. The Nissan dealer diagnosed the problem as a faulty CVT and wanted $11,000 CAD to replace it. I had it rebuilt with OEM parts for $6500 CAD. I then filed a Small Claims suit against Nissan Canada. It went to a settlement conference on July 11. Nissan's defence is weak and based on the fact that they did not do a definitive analysis of the problem, and since I had the rebuild done, there is no evidence. They have known about the problem since 2014 and did not fix it or warn the public. Failure to act and failure to notify. I was towing a 2600 lb trailer (the unit is recommended by Nissan to 5000 lb) and was pulling onto a 2-lane highway when it failed. It could have been disastrous if I had stalled out. I used material from the US Class Action and my own research to file my claim. Forget the class actions... the lawyers take the majority of the award. **** * ***** ****** ****** ******** ** ***** **** *** ******** *** **** *** **** * ******* * **** ** *** **** ******* ***** ** ** ********* *** **** ** ******** ********

My wife's 2017 Rogue passed the five year warranty period by two months and 14000 Km over and her CVT transmission died. All Nissan Canada did was prolong the repair process with a decision and the dealership charged 150 for a code reading. I also was charged 60 at the first garage I went to before having it towed to the dealership. Nissan Canada after two days decided not to help her out. The SUV was again towed to a private tranny shop due to the estimation of 6500 dollars at the dealership. I would warn anyone buying a Nissan with a CVT to read about these issues as it could also cause a real hazard when driving. My wife was lucky although shaken as she managed to get to my sons house and then I drove it to a nearby garage. The extended warranty that Nissan Canada has recently updated does not affect the Rogue. It does in the States after litigation. if anyone is thinking of a Nissan Vehicle please read about the problems that are occurring past and present with CVT transmissions. I would not buy again.
