      Terrible service *** * *** ****** *** * *******. I heavily emphasized that I wanted to receive a notification prior to service. They claimed they called on April 18th, 2023 but there are no missing calls or messages from HOMETURF in my phone logs. Their technician just left a bag of seeds on the porch and claimed a service has been done. Due to security reasons, my gate is locked so there's no way a service could've been done. They proceed to charge me $180 without any work done (at a discount) after a lengthy exchange through email. ****** *** ************

      I recently signed up for, “The Complete Program - $334.04” for this season (2023). We used Hometurf in past and hoped they improved.
      After the first application, we had the same feelings we did the last time. The service person spent a few mins performing their task and off they went. Although we communicated this, there was no follow up.
      It seemed like there was more product on my driveway, walkways and flower bed than on my lawn. We decided to give them one more chance in hopes the next service call would make us feel like we were getting value.
      Unfortunately, the follow up visit was the same.
      So, I called in and asked to cancel. The rep apologized and offered to come out again but i explained we feel we were more than fair. I asked for a refund, and she said the company does not issue refunds. I asked to speak to a manager who said the same.
      I asked the manager where on the Hometurf website does it say that Hometurf does not offer refunds? She said it doesn’t but, on the communication confirming your order (which is sent after the fact), it apparently does.
      Disappointed, I asked them to simply release the balance. She said the company does not release balances. She said we would be charged a $20 admin fee for cancelling and $189.85 bal. would stay on my dormant account.
      Why would a company take money they didn’t earn? She said transfer it to a friend or family member. Really? If I wasn’t happy with your service, *** ***** * ********* **** ** ******* *****

      Why not do the right thing and refund MY money? Circle back with the team and discuss how the company can improve these issues to avoid situations like this in future?

      My lawn was fertilized for the 1st time on April 19th 2023. My entire backyard is burnt. Before the application my lawn was fine. The roots are black and the grass is dead. I have lost my entire backyard. I forwarded pictures again today after 2 weeks of watering, no change. I need my sods replaced. I have not received any help in resolving this situation.

      I paid for myself, sister and mother last April. Over $900 for all 3 lawns. Hometurf did not do all the services on each property. When I called they would always say someone was coming soon. They would send an email that they were coming and then wouldn't! *** **** ******** ** ***** ********* ****** *** They did nothing to address my terrible weed problem. They would leave a note in my mailbox saying everything was perfect. ***** ******* *** ******** ***** *** ****** *** I sent a letter in December asking for my money back. I got a call that someone would be in touch. They never did! ** ****** ** **** ********

      Deceptive Business Practices.
      When you sign up for service, they include a hard-to-spot message, indicating they will continue to come back until you cancel.
      The following year you will get emails and mail, that looks like they are trying to entice you to sign up again for their service.
      If you have no intention to use their service again, you will probably ignore the emails and the mail, just like I did.
      Then they will show up and give you an invoice for the entire season.
      Although they are being clever enough not to break the law, this is a very deceptive business practice.
      Most businesses that have continuous service agreements, send mail or email that makes it more obvious that your service is about to be renewed, they don't mask it in correspondence that offers you a discount to request their service again.

      Terrible service! The chemicals they used had absolutely no effect. Canceled their service but didn’t get a cancellation number. So then they send someone to apply an application. Called them again, so they stopped coming. Let them know I wasn’t paying the 37.00 charge as I had cancelled. Now they’re trying to charge me pay payment fees up to 172.00 and are threading sending me to collections for their screwup. **** **** **** ***** ******** ****

From day one the service at both properties was shoddy and careless. Several times we had to call because applications that were identified as done were not actually done. When we called to complain we just got a runaround. It felt like we had to check after every activity. The final straw was the fall fertilizer application, which was not done. After the company rep finally got back to us they stated that the fall fertilizer is "optional" and you have to ask for it, even though we paid for it. This is not stated anywhere in the quote, contract or any other company literature. The rep said that they sent me an e-mail on November 9th asking if we wanted the fall fertilizer application. I received no such e-mail, although I did receive a 2023 early bird special offer on that date.
      We did cancel our services and received e-mail confirmation on Nov 3rd, so I suspect once we dropped them, they forgot anout any further services they owed us* ** *** **** * ********** *********** *********** **** **** ******* ******* ** *** **** **** ***** ***** ******** **** *** *** *** ***** * ******* **** *** ** **** ***** ********** ****** ******** **** ****** **** *** * ***** **** *****

      I keep getting invoices when they performed unwanted, unordered and unscheduled spring application. Customer service does not respond.

      Absolutely terrible and illegal service in my opinion. This company doesn't provide a proper applications. They used a rude and aggressive persons to trespass my property for a fake service. Be aware of the "ongoing contract" scam. They never cancel your contract even if you demand so. The customer gets charged every year despite of numerous attempts to cancel the contract. Never give them your credit card number! I filed a complaint to Consumer Protection of Ontario to start an investigation.
