I hired this company to fix my washer and it was $200 parts and $220 labour. When I got the invoice, they charged me 12% tax on both parts and labor. In BC parts are 12%, but the labour is GST only 5% tax. My bill should be $36 tax and they are charging me $50 tax. I have brought this to their attention and they are doing nothing to correct the situation. I’ve talked to many companies and they all say labour is only 5%. I would like a refund back for my tax I was overcharged for.Initial Complaint

On January 23rd a Tech came to come to fix my oven. He spent 21/2 hours taking my stove apart and then told me he was unable to fix it. He told me the stove was too heavy (he kept pushing it with his feet). He broke the light on my stove, took apart the stove door (that was NOT broken) and left it in pieces (*** ********). The tech became ********** with me so I contacted my neighbor so I would not be alone with him. My neighbor took a recording of the tech admitting he broke my stove door and that I would get a full refund. Not only did I not get a refund for the diagnosis fee, I also received a bill for the job that was never completed. The tech said, I did not allow him to finish the job, this is completely untrue. I have emailed the company pictures, I have tried to call them and they have not replied to my emails nor have them called me back.Initial Complaint

On January 9th I called a place called Appliance Repair Expert to have my dryer fixed. A guy, Muhammad H. came to my place and I told him what the issue was, my dryer was not getting hot so the clothes weren't drying, he told me no worries and proceeded to fix it, or so I thought, He told me that he changed the thermostat and that it was working, so I paid him through email transfer, the email I sent the payment to was ********@***************.ca, I was told that the cost would be $89.99 for the service call, and if the issue was fixed that would be waived and I would be charged for the parts and labour, which would have been fine if it was fixed. He didn't even check to see if it was working before he left. I called back and was told it is probably the motor and would cost me another $275-300, which I said I can't afford that, so I was told that I would get a refund, The total I paid was $298.89, I was told that all I had to pay would be the service charge of $89 + tax. I have since called numerous different phone numbers and have either been getting the runaround or the phone just rings and rings and once I had someone hang up on me. I even sent an email but not sure if it was a legit email address, all I want is my refund back. Here are the multiple phone numbers that I have called with no answer. *************** *************** *************** ************** and **************. Found on ******, booked a repair of my washing machine on Jan 4/25. The repairman spent 5 min looking at my washer said it’s the latch or drain, and it would be $400 in labour, plus parts which he would order and come back Jan 8. I paid $89+tax for the diagnosis. The invoice was emailed to me afterwords, I was told in my first call that this would be put towards the costs of the repairs. On Jan 8th the repairman (KH) called me 2 hours before our appt to reschedule for no reason. We agreed to the next day. On the 9th I received a text from a different # saying he would be arriving to look at my washer at 4:30pm. Instead of making the repairs, he did an entirely new diagnosis and quoted less than half the labour from the first guy ($140) and said the issue was the control board. I explained we someone from his company come a week earlier and was supposed to be doing the repair today. He said there was nothing in my file. I showed him the emails, texts and paid invoice. He apologized and said he wasn’t sure how this happened, but he would contact the office, order the new replacement parts and would call me in the morning, Jan 9; to confirm when he would be coming back to fix my washer. I never heard from him. Nor did he answer my calls or texts. On Jan 10 I called the main office number. I called multiple times in a row but after a minute the call would go dead. To see if my suspicions about being hung up on were correct, I called using my work phone and they answered immediately. I explained the situation and was told that the customer service manager was busy but they would call me back shortly. Never heard from them, I followed up with an email outlining everything and demanding a refund with no response. They won’t answer calls from either of my phone numbers now, yet quickly answered when I had friends try to call. * **** **** ****** *** ***** ******** ** ******* ** ******* **** ****** *** *** **** ******* *********** **** **** ********** ********Initial Complaint

* Scheduled appointment Saturday, January 4, between 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
The technician never arrived, and there was no courtesy call. My time was not
respected, and this lack of consideration caused considerable inconvenience.
Unprofessional
The technician took excessively long time to replace the hook
Overcharging
* I was told the amount was $160 with $30 discount doe new customer. The amount charged is higher than agreed.

I contacted Appliance Repair Experts (I found them through ******) in July 2024 to help with the pilot light on my stove. When I called them they quoted $99 for an initial service visit, plus parts/labour costs if they had to actually repair something. They came on July 15th and diagnosed the issue, said a special part was needed that I paid a deposit for upfront ($280 to diagnose and repair - i.e. labour + $298.98 for the part, I paid $480 on 15th July, and was told the balance would be due on completion of the work. The work still hasn’t been completed (6 Jan 2025). The technician has come back twice but has brought the incorrect part. On multiple occasions he has agreed over the phone to come to complete the work, but hasn’t show up, leaving me stranded at home waiting for him, including most recently on 24th December. I have spoken to their customer service many times, but they do not usually answer the phone, it just rings out - sometimes they call right back but they cannot offer me a solution.
At this point, what I want is a full refund for the time wasted so I can just hire another repair company.Initial Complaint

Technician came to service our dishwasher on Jan 16, 2024 and did not have the part. He ordered the part on premise and asked for a payment of 50% of the total cost including his visit, $481.38. We paid $240.69.
I have called this company every other month for an update but have been getting a runaround. I do get a callback but they blame the technician saying they will callback and then no callback. My last call to them was Dec 3rd. After several rings it hung-up. I called the manager directly on his cellphone leaving a message asking for a refund but he has not returned my call.Initial Complaint

My refrigerator was freezing the items in it. Repairman came and re-set computer board. (Nov 29/24) This repair did not work so after re-contacting company, repairman returned and replaced board with a new one, (aprox. 3 days later) at no charge. This repair failed as well. I have been trying daily to contact the company since. This company either needs to refund me the 276.00 or pay the bill for the cost of another company coming to repair it as I need to call a new company to have it fixed before Christmas.Initial Complaint

Object: Clothes Dryer Repair - October 5 and 9, 2024.
When I called for an appointment, I was told that the service fee was to be $130. and that it would be waved if I were to have the dryer repaired.
On the first visit Oct. 5, I ended up paying $172.46 (see receipt-1).
The dryer was repaired on Oct, 9. It took an hour to replace the element on the dryer.
I payed an additional $210.90. (see receipt-2)
Total amount paid: $383.36.
I told the technician that the service fee had not been waved as promised but it was useless arguing with him.
Two weeks ago, I e-mailed the Toronto Head Office about this situation.
I received no feedback.
I am hopeful that the BBB can help.
Thank you.
