      We received the initial assessment, and paid for a replacement part and labour totaling $609.00. After the initial assessment, it was determined that the control board was faulty and that a replacement would take 10-days. While the part was on order, I purchased a board and installed it myself to test. It did not resolve the issue. When the tech returned 10-days later with another board, he advised me that the repair may take 24 hours to take effect, but if his replacement board did not fix the issue, they would refund us our money and diagnose the problem further. This took place on Nov 6. When I called back to inform them that their repair did not fix the issue, they began screening my calls. Since then, I have called them 26 times over 5 days from my cell phone. When I call from a different number, they answer right away, state that a manager will call me, which they never do. I have also followed up via email and SMS with no response. Our fridge has now been broken since Oct 25.

      I scheduled a repair for my fridge, and when the technician arrived on September 18, 2024, he quoted $468 for the repair. He explained that 50% of the cost had to be paid in advance to order a part, which would take four weeks to arrive. He scheduled a follow-up repair for October 15, between 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm. However, on that date, he did not show up, and I received no notice. When I called, I was informed that the technician was sick, but the part had arrived, and the service was rescheduled for October 18. Later, I was told the part had not actually arrived, and the repair was postponed again—this time to October 31. At this time, I decided to cancel the service, as such delays and irresponsibility were not acceptable to me. I then requested a full refund, but Appliance Repair Expert refused to issue one. On October 19, 2024, I called another company, which fixed the problem in one day for a total of $282.44. *** ******* **** *** ****** ******* ** ******** *** **** **********

      The technician arrived at my house and started to work on the problem. He opened the dryer and said that the obstruction were cleared but he had me order some parts online and said that he would install it. He came back and installed the parts we ordered. It was still making a noise though and he told me he had ordered a gasket and would install that for free. He has never come back. He is ignoring all my calls. The dryer is only half assembled at this stage- it is working though but with the noise which he never fixed.       Hello,
      I had an issue with my washing machine on June 19th 2024 and I found the website: "*********************************". ** ****** ***** ** ***** ** I filled out their inquiry form online.
      In a few hours, I received a call from someone claiming to be the rep for the agency. I booked an appointment over the phone for a tech (**** ********) to come over and fix my washing machine. The tech came over as planned and saw it was stacked with my dryer - so he said he cant fix it as he needs to get someone to help him.
      I reached out to him the next day (August 20th 2024) and asked about the estimate. But from the conversation I had with him (******** ****), it seemed a bit strange to me that he was asking me to instead hire one of his friends for the work as hiring through the company would be expensive. I didnt respond back.
      Now, it seems that they are asking for around $150 for the visit. I called the company again on August 20th 2024 @ ###-###-####, to check with them if it is indeed them or a spam. The reason I got worried is that they sent me an email impersonating a collection agency in USA ********* ****. The email looks strange with various fonts and it came from the email id associated with the same company name and not from the collection agency, as the email signature suggests.
      Upon further investigating their website, I realized that everything on their website is a picture *** **** *** ******* ******* **** *** **** ****** ****** ****. I reached out to them on the same day (Aug 20th 2024) via their toll-free line and asked them to connect with one of the listed team members on the website. They hung up and called me from a different number and instead started asking for money.
      I did not receive any communication from them until today (Oct 17th 2024). They sent an email form a collection agency - not sure if it is real collection agency or not - again threatening to report to the credit agency about non-payment of a service, which by the way I never got.

      I called a business called Appliance Expert and Repair, ***** ** *** **** *** *** **** * **** ** *** ******* * ******** I asked for a service call out and then they sent a confirmation text and email from a DIFFERENT COMPANY *** which did have BBB complaints. I phoned them and texted and emailed immediately (within 10 minutes of my original call to the company, I have proof of this in text)) to cancel the appointment. I explained explicitly and several times that I wasn't going to pay it because of *** **** ** using a different name then advertised. And because it was unreasonable that they'd still enforce a policy of a cancellation fee. I received a notice today that my $100 fee for cancelling the appointment went to collections. This is for a service that was never received. And I explained to them I wasn't comfortable with their business coming ***** **** *** * *** ***** They won't stop ********* *** but I have proof that they never came to my house and as I said, proof of the interaction with them around the immediate cancellation.

      I called this company to look at my washing machine and dishwasher. The technician came on August 30th. The technician inspected the drum, and did "some repairs" to the drum, but within 2 washes it was broken again. The "solution" to fix the dishwasher was running an extension cord from another outlet and cutting off the end to hard-wire to the dishwasher. This caused additional electrical issues - I lost power to both our dishwasher and stove, as well as part of our basement, including to our freezer. The cost for the 2 repairs was $587.60. Ultimately it cost me another $500 to get the dishwasher electricity fixed properly, and I need to buy a new washing machine.

      I called and emailed this company many times and the only person I can get is an administrator who said the technician would give me a call. I have not heard anything. This particular technician is not qualified to be doing this work.

      Technician Rahman for dryer repair for this company was supposed to come and repair our dryer. The technician came on Saturday October 5th and replaced some parts and told us not to start the dryer for an hour. We did not turn the dryer on until the evening hours after the repair. The dryer was not noisy anymore but it did not work at all. It did not dry our clothes.

      We called the technician again and he came back today. He did his “check” and said more parts are required and wanted to charge another $600. We told him to refund the initial repair amount of $472 and just deduct the service fee. He did not want to do it. We said we’ll contact the company. He said he “owns” the company and just literally ran away from us. My husband tried to chase him. We called the company and this technician is not an “owner.”

      Technician gave a verbal 3-month warranty on service but did not delivery on anything. We are now disputing this transaction and want to cancel it as company did not deliver the service we paid for.

      After getting in touch with some past customers, we found out that Appliance Repair Expert uses the same method of rescheduling repair work for a specific number of days so that credit card payment will be processed and the customer can no longer stop payment. In our case:

      October 6 (Sunday) - Technician came in the early afternoon to repair and charged my card. In the evening, we called to schedule a second repair since the dryer was not fixed. Technician said they’ll come on Monday, October 7th.

      October 7 (Monday) - Technician texted late afternoon to say they will come in on Wednesday evening 7-8 PM.

      October 9 (Wednesday) - Technician came in and did not do the repairs or refund us and left us with $472 in the hole. The amount was already “posted” on my card so I could no longer do a stop payment.

      NOTE: They will purposely “reschedule” so that your credit card will POST the transaction & you can no longer stop payment. ** *** *** **** *** *********

      I am writing to file a formal complaint against Appliance Repair Expert Toronto, regarding a service I paid for but never received. In April, a technician named Tom came to repair my oven. After inspecting the issue, he required upfront payment for parts and labor, which I paid in full. Despite a follow up visit, my oven remains unfixed, and several elements are unusable.

      Over the past six months, I’ve made over 20 appointments with Tom, most of which he didn’t show up for - he showed up a 4 times in total. On the rare occasions he did come, he either forgot parts or made excuses, leaving the problem unresolved. I’ve taken time off work repeatedly to accommodate these appointments, but to no avail.

      In addition to the missed appointments, the company’s customer service has been extremely poor. They have been **** over the phone, dismissive of my concerns, and unresponsive to my emails. I’ve attempted to get a refund since the service was never completed, but they have refused. It feels like they have no interest in resolving the situation or helping their customers.

      What’s more concerning is that this company removed their listing from ****** and re-registered under a different name to erase their negative reviews, including mine. This pattern of behavior is dishonest and deeply troubling.

      I’m hoping the BBB can assist in resolving this issue. I would like a full refund for the service that was never completed and accountability for their actions.

      I paid over $800 for the problem to be fixed and it hasn’t even been addressed. I’d like a refund to hire another company.

      On September 19 2024, I contacted ******** ********* ******* ** ******** a company that I had researched and had excellent reviews, to fix my refrigerator. A man came that day and charged me $135 to diagnose the problem. He told me that he would get back to me that day to let me know whether he could get the part or would have to order it. He didn't contact me that day and when I got the email receipt, it was from a different company name: Appliance Repair Expert, a company I later found out had horrible reviews, several with warnings of ***** of being "ghosted" after paying a diagnostic fee, as what ultimately happened to me. I called the phone number the next morning (no answer and unable to leave a message, the call just hung up) but someone called me back and assured me that he would find out about the part and call me back asap as I told him that my fridge was dead and my freezer food was defrosting. He didn't. I tried calling over 20 times, at least four phone numbers of the two named companies but again, the calls just hung up on me before any answer. I drove to the only address listed and was told by the receptionist that it was a "virtual office" only and the companies employees were never there. I want a refund for the diagnostic fee.
